Of course, this whole argument is irrelevant because no GM in NFL history is ever going to decide on which QB to sign based on which one is the better runner.

This makes no sense. Of course GM's have signed qbs because of their legs. It's how Vick, Tebow, Manziel, Kaepernick, RG3, Lamar Jackson and others have gotten contracts.

Sacks: 1 each
TFL: 5 each

Bear: 8 catches 91 yards
Cooper: 8 catches 88 yds 1 td

So if they flip teams, Bear would have been playing basketball only at Bama and Cooper would have gone for 15 and 175 with at least 2 TDS against the Tide on his way to first team all SEC for State. We know that because Blake Simms is going to be a 3rd string QB for the Birmingham Iron and Dak is throwing for over 100 yards per game to Cooper in the NFL playoffs. Yet somehow Cooper had 1700+ yards and 16 TDs on his way to being a top 5 pick. In just that game the numbers are nearly equal, but methinks 1/2 of each duo was carrying the weight.

Mathematically
Dak + Bear = Blake + Cooper
Dak + Cooper = Pro Bowl Caliber
Blake + Bear = Juco Caliber
Blake was good because Cooper is awesome.
Bear was good because Dak was awesome.

Again, not knocking Bear or Blake, both were good college players, but you would have to be naive to think that Bear and Blake weren't carried by Dak and Cooper.

So I am certain with a legit #1 receiver the outcome would have been different. In fact we can see what a team looks like when you have Dak with subpar WRs and then you add Cooper to the mix... Dallas was 3-5 and after adding Cooper have now gone 8-1 (5 of those games against playoff teams.) So yes, call me crazy, but I think it's incredibly difficult to pass against Alabama when you have receivers that are not talented enough to consistently get separation. Much the same way it is in the NFL.

I watched Dak and Cooper connect for 10 receptions, 217 yards, and 3 TDs against the Eagles a month ago... With Cooper doing the heavy lifting. Putting him on the 2014 team would have made a humongous difference. Defenses would have to account for him opening up the box for Dak and Robinson. He takes short screens and slants to the house with some frequency in the NFL and did it all the time in college. Not asking for a full cupboard of 5* receivers, just saying a legit SEC WR would have changed the game...

Heck, 2015 level Fred Ross in 2014 might have been enough to beat Bama, Cooper would have opened up the field big-time.

Jerry should be thankful every day for the Denver Broncos. Without them, he would be stuck with who he really wanted in the draft that year, Paxton Lynch.

Please stop reminding me of this. I'd have bought a Denver Prescott Jersey the next day.

Now, when & where I wore it...well, I'd have to consult y'all first.**

The point was a GM is taking a thrower over runner if they have the choice. Yeah, they’ll draft an athlete who they hope can throw a little bit because they flashed it in college a bit...but they all have to be able to throw at some point. And, holy **** at that shittastic list of QB’s. That only further proves my point.
