I trust higgins evaluation. He's been pretty spot on in his evaluations.

One of the smartest posters on this board.

I do enjoy basketball and hope to see RU pull a win. With these injuries, it is hard to scrape a win. Still, a lot falls on Jordan. He has shown us his card on what he does in practice. It can't be accepted. I was a big supporter for a long time and still do support him, but I do not think he is the best choice for the road ahead.

You have to factor in the fact that he is playing against backups for long stretches as many of the games are decided early.

Hopefully he develops into that kind of prospect but he has long way to go to become an NBA player .

As noted above, the NBA is the most difficult league to make in all of professional sports. However, Corey Sanders might get an opportunity to play in the NBA if he stays at RU for at least two more seasons, gains even more skill and shows that he can raise a team like RU from the abyss. I wish him the best and I am very glad he choose to play at RU under Coach Jordan. If EJ can sign some more players like Sanders, Laurent and Freeman the RAC will be rocking once again.

Was watching Kansas/Iowa State play yesterday and was fairly surprised to see how experienced Kansas is. Iowa State starts 3 Seniors and 2 Juniors.

Ellis (Senior), Selden Jr (Junior), Mason iii (Junior), Greene (Junior), Lucas (Junior) and sixth man Graham (Soph). That's a lot of experience from a roster made up of Top 50/McD's AA's.

As for Corey, he is as talented a kid that has entered the program in a long while. Hard work and experience and he has a shot at the league.

I don't even think he has to rise RU from the abyss. If he just keeps playing well against big ten teams/ooc teams, it would get noticed. td is right though, a lot of these teams take out their best players. Sanders was underrated/feared for his personality coming out of hs. He is still underrated now. He has shown a solid 3 pt shot. I agree though-players who attack the rim like Laurent are invaluable. Freeman was dependable early in the season. I am weary about the weight programs these kids do, as I have some experience in that field. Jordan hired another nets guy for it and I am not so sure of it being a great hire.

Yeah, I wonder about the S&C program for our bball players. I know functional strength and quickness/injjury prevention is what's of most importance, but you also want your team to pass the bus test. Do our guys look bigger, faster and stronger each year they are in the program?

Strength training is not rocket science. Don't make it complicated for kids that already have a lot on their plate. Functional strength, injury prevention is huge. You hit it on the head.

I would say our strength program seems to be just average or below it. The results would show on the court. In general we need a coach that is stern and reinforces basics at every practice. A strength coach that simplifies a process and helps kids increase their limits.

Great to see you are still around. I'm glad you didn't give up on RU. We need you to post every once in a while. I personally do not see Corey ready for the NBA. I think he will be in college for at least 3 years. He is very good but the NBA is a really tough league.

You are right, Art. I just hope he makes it as he is a kid who has persevered through a lot. The next game I get to I will shoot you an email. One thing I am hoping for is that a couple people on this forum meet up, and we are not just names on a board.

You are an inspiration, my friend.
