It is an obvious coverup. The heat on Meridian is red hot...I am not sure what will come of this but I do know the family will not give up.

Maybe, maybe not. A documentary or podcast can easily make you believe anything they want you to. In most cases like this, it really is just a suicide. But I'm sure if the DOJ thinks there's something to this, they'll investigate it. As they should.

I think it was the 50s, but a distant relative of mine shot himself 7 times in the back of the head with a revolver. MPD ruled it a suicide. I guess that was probably technically correct as a week earlier he had a bar brawl with an MPD officer.

Obviously, a podcast or documentary is going to present evidence that supports their thesis. Otherwise, it wouldn't keep people interested and following along. This one did seem to have a lot of shady happenings, though.

Podcast or not. Facts are facts aren't they? I barely listened to the Podcast. It's really not hard to see that there are many things that don't add up.

Dang! What’s most impressive about that is that he had to reload and continued shooting himself

Or maybe you don't choose any random story to tell. You look for cases that have strong evidence of misconduct and you present it in podcast form.

I think Christian killed himself and then his girlfriend and best friend tried to figure out how they could get their hands on his money, hence the coverup. The kid was obviously suicidal. The other two were obviously shady. I just don’t think the evidence presented in the podcast supports murder.

What reason would they have for a coverup?

I was talking to a lawyer friend just yesterday about the case and he said Christian's mother had kicked him out of their house just a few days before his death because.....well let's just say he had become more or less like the other 2 kids in the case. A sad situation for sure. I worked with Rae Andreacchio in the late 80's and she was as nice as can be and very smart. I hope the family can eventually find peace.

A lot of these podcasts follow along with hearings and things are happening in real time (sort of), so many times things can change throughout the show.

Give a listen to Up and Vanished. That one spends multiple episodes with evidence on various people and then kind of turns on its head.

That one is next on my list.

It might end up being a cover up, but at this point it's far from an "obvious coverup". There are two sides to this story and the podcast is only giving you one side.

At the very least, the MPD dropped the ball from the beginning and that's the reason it was never properly handled correctly. All the issues now stem from the MPD showing a complete lack of responsibility to take care of their own citizens with a proper investigation.

The people in Lauderdale County have been taking sides on this and exhibiting all types of senseless drama on social media towards the other side. One side decided to dig up this random attorney with very little experience and almost got him elected to DA. Simply because he promised to bring the case back up. To me, that's irresponsible to allow one case to dictate who wins an election for such an important job, especially with his lack of experience.

Simply put, this one podcast is making people in Meridian go crazy. I feel bad for the family who is simply trying their best to get Justice for their son, but at this point it's going to be tough to get it brought back up. I respect the mom for trying though. I'd want my mother to do the same.

Other than the fact that the position of his body, the gun being de-cocked, the supposed travel of the bullet in relation to his body, and the bloody t-shirt that was turned in to the MPD and disappeared....none of that supports suicide.

I knew all of the kids involved in this case through high school. Christian was not a saint. He had threatened several times to commit suicide.

In this case, you have Bilbo Mitchell who was the main DA. His son Hayes was running with this group of kids.

From what I’ve heard, it’s more plausible that they caught Christian trying to hurt himself, struggled with him, then the gun goes off. A group of young kids then says “oh crap, it’s gonna look like we killed him.” So they do some moving things around and make a few phone calls to daddy to do whatever he can to keep them out of it.

Either way, it’s still suicide, it’s just not the whole story. The mother is going to believe it’s murder either way though. The fact is that it was suicide, whether purposefully or accidental. That’s not part of the cover up. They just aren’t telling all the details to protect what would become a huge mess with one side calling for death penalty when someone was just trying to stop him from actually committing suicide.

Also, Bilbo Mitchell’s son Hayes did pass away from a drug overdose not long after all this went down. Some say it’s because of the guilt he felt from how all of that went down. That’s just the rumor I’ve heard in talking to people that have investigated it.

Thats the problem, the key players know the investigation was botched. They won't do anything to reinvestigate it from the beginning? Hell they never even performed a ballistic test on the bullet and the gun. They could just do an investigation if they want to get justice or get people off their backs.

So Christian only lived in his apartment for 2 days? How did his mother kick him out of the house 2 days before he died?

How do you know these are facts? Because the podcast said so? Like I said, I could create a podcast to make you believe anything I wanted you to. Just leave out some information, present other information as fact when it may not be so. Easy.

That’s not true

He had lived in the apartment with his best friend and gf. While he was away working on his tug boat, his gf was staying there.

Yeah, that’s not true either. The apartment originally was his brother’s. Christian moved in with his brother when his crazy gf pissed off his mom and she threw them out of her house. The gf was living there with he and his brother. The “friend” was just mooching and was generally a third wheel day in ans day out. The gf nor the friend had jobs.

I kept waiting for the podcast to address why that guy was staying there.

The obvious question to me is, what did the gf and the 'friend' do while hanging out at the apartment while Christian was away for weeks or months at a time...?

I don't think they ever addressed it on the podcast, but do we know if those two were an item?

The "friend" took Christian's card to the bank trying to get money. He's on surveillance cameras doing so. And he was telling them Christian told him to go withdraw a bunch of money. Thing is...Christian was already dead.
