The importance of recruiting a soccer player during preseason camp cannot be overstated.21-21, 1:54 left, Pioneers ball, kicker has missed 2 PATS tonight
Believe it or not, he is a soccer player, first one in decades to be the kickerThe importance of recruiting a soccer player during preseason camp cannot be overstated.
I just read after Mac had a chance with time left from the 1 yd line?!?! I have game attendance envy... I picked the wrong gameOvertime in Decaturā¦
I think it was more a case of golf buddies wanting their alma mater to beat the others bc his son's in the program. But I'm sure they're actually fired up, or they should be. Football will be played. If SHG is looking forward to the QND game that's bad MOJO! Losing a game that one is looking forward to is a death nail to a teams psyche... The old sayin..."Be careful of what you want ya just might get it" amply applies to that game.
Mr. Blaine must have a residency in Soy City this year...Pioneers fall in OT, 28-27
All.... I took in the first half of this game. Spartan roster shows 40. It going to be a long season for them. Raiders with a nice mix of run and passing. One play that I said to my self hey now I have seen that one before where the receiver lines up about 20 yards or so deep on the end and hits the line of scrimmage going full bore on the snap. Went for a nice gain for the Raiders. Just about everythig they did though.QND/SE start time moved up to 11 AM due to the heat. Wanted to checkout Southeast's renovated stadium but found out it was already halftime and tix no longer being sold.
QND 43 Southeast 0, 3rd Quarter.
JCA isn't getting the athletes it once did... Maybe they are standing on their standards which isn't a bad thing in a world always giving up standards for.... "Worldly" things!~All.... Forecast for next weeks game at this early date . A high of 81 possible stray shower in the afteroon. Low of 56. Nice weather for an upcoming fun game. Ratsy P.S. I bumped into and talked with "Chocolate Terry" who was of course wearing his JCA shirt. As usual giving out his home made goodies. Started with the ticket takers and was heading up to the broadcast booth. He was quite concerned about the Hilltoppers.

I won't say I'm hoping for a delayed start, but maybe I am...All.... Lousy weather predicted the whole day this Friday. The type where it will be difficult to get an entire game finished. Oh joy.... Ratsy
Just dazzle them Roman with awesome figures and rosy forecasts!!!!I won't say I'm hoping for a delayed start, but maybe I am...
Gonna be cutting it close on Friday! Scheduled to be in O'Fallon (the IL one) until 5pm. One hour, 30 mins, plus change says the Google. A dinner stop of 10 mins, plus prayers for no traffic (shouldn't be a problem out there on I-64, right?!) I guess that may be determined on my choice in route from where I'll be to get to the interstate that leads to the Cyclones. Regardless, gonna be one of the many race cars attempting to break speed records on I-55 Northbound up to Springfield. A request for a few more prayers by myself here that my meeting gets cut short so I'm not rushing...
Regardless, weather included, going to be an actual football game this week. At least on paper it appears we may be in for a good one. Unless you're just looking at the names of the teams playing. In which case you'd likely laugh and ask yourself why SHG was playing a bum like QND... a fair response I might add.
Or, at least this one may require the Raiders starters to remain engaged and active through 4 quarters of a game. Might be helpful in the future?
Or, if it winds up being a well served freshly baked slice of humble pie (the likely scenario here) for QND, we can at least use that as our "what we learned" for the week. An understanding of where we're at or want to be at, and our starters will get some resiliency training. Also useful in the future, right?
Surely this sounds better than that silly Glenwood/Rochester battle elsewhere in Sangamon County this week. Right!? Kidding, of course. We know that's a big one.
Both divisions likely picking a winner here in Week 4. That comes with what I would think is an overwhelming consensus, MacArthur will lose to somebody, Rochester or Glenwood, down the road... right?!?! Coach Spates appears to have an endless supply of the lead suit in his euchre hand... Is it enough to topple the giants of the East? As it currently sits, no, I don't think they do. But if we've learned anything from week 3, it's that football is bonkers, and sometimes the ball just seems to bounce your way. Momentum is a fickle, funny thing.
So many questions... Right?!
So many days to wait for answers...
Is this a recent injury or did it happen prior to the Lincoln game last week? A starting OL-DL was hurt in the scrimmage against Belleville West and hasn't played yet and there was a WR hurt in the Mt Zion game who did not play last week. This is all I'm aware of.Any news of a big injury for the Rockets? Prayers for the young gentlemen if true.
Just dazzle them Roman with awesome figures and rosy forecasts!!!!
My comment was about your work on Friday... Razzle and dazzle them so you could leave early!!!That really isn't me...
Also the message was more to the point of saying yes, they're obviously confident right now as a program (QND that is), likely in part to winning the West in 2024. But an underlying truth remains a factor with games against SHG for teams like QND. Proud of that "anomaly" win last year I guess... but settling is for our ancestors... we're here to progress. Consistently winning this game will remain the highest order until the outside world stops considering QND the underdog in the equation. But, it's year two... so reminding yourself a loss here isn't the end of the world is key. Really all I was getting at in a very roundabout way. Mad respect from everyone in QND camp for SHG, their football program, and those in charge of it... I think Ratsy and the SHG faithful understand what friendly competition is. Let us have the friendliest of competitions this week!![]()
