I would love to know the ages of the Phil sport team fans that are arguing that their fans have been dicks for years.

20 years ago- you all loved it in ineptitude as a badge of toughness. As your teams started to win a few trophies - all of a sudden- n, not us.

LOL

It funny- and I have nothing to back it up as it was all paper news with no real time internet or social media at the time but I would bet that most non Philly fans around the country will ask you guys why you hated Mike Schmidt so much.

The only thing that can explain your repeated cherry picking and exaggerations of events is that you have an agenda as an extremely biased Cowboys' fan. It goes without saying that all fans aren't angels, but your repeated insistence that it's all fans, and not just a minority of Eagles fans who tend to be obnoxious, literally defies logic and apparently is just an attempt at trolling. How many home Eagles games have you personally attended to see for yourself how the majority of fans behave? That's what I thought. I've been to about 6 or 7 and I've only seen bad or rude behavior once when we sat in the cheapest seats. But continue to bash away if it makes you feel a little better.
I’ve been to 5 eagles/cowboys games. I can show you an old jersey with ketchup stains from idiots throwing food at us.

You live in absolute delusion if you don’t understand the reputation Philly fans have nationally. Had nothing to do with me as a cowboys fan (though yes, I do hate the eagles passionately). Go around to any random fan and ask what their opionion of Philly fans are… It’s clear you are detached from the reality

People's opinion of the fans, which are likely fed by the media's sensationalism, don't equate to facts. Sure, I've read plenty of articles. I've also been to games in Philly and seen firsthand how exaggerated those stories are. I was there week 18 and sat directly next to 2 Giants fan. Nothing happened. Not. One. Thing. I took my mother in law to a MNF game in her Packers jersey. Nothing happened. Nothing. I have been t approximately one thousand Phillies games. I used to work at the Vet as an usher for the Phillies. There was only one game I ever saw hostility (the JD Drew return). They threw toilet paper at him and were immediately ejected. How do I know? Because I was assigned to the 200 level in RF and came over to identify people. I have way more experience at these events than most people on this board. Do bad things happen occassionally? Yes, just like everywhere else. Are the ridiculous trolls in this thread close to accurate? They are not.

I recall that so many Philly fans collected fines/charges that they had a jail/court in stadium (see link)
I also recall some opposing team player (forget the sport) taunted over some relative"s cancer.

Personally I loved/hated the Eagles
I liked the Dick Vermeil Eagles but not Herm Edwards
I really liked Reggie White but feared Randall Cunningham
Vince Papale was a lot of fun
I always disliked the uniforms (hate Jets green too).

I've been to Philly a couple times and liked it
I recall people living in cardboard boxes and young gypsy girls trying to scam me
At home I worked one college summer with a boxer from Philly
In a pub one night he knocked out a drunk dude who was a Vietnam vet and red belt who I once saw kick a dude in the head through a car window opened about 6 inches.
He also used to break stacks of cinder blocks and bricks with his hand/head
I couldn't believe a Philly pub guy dropped him but I've learned better since

Go back and watch the tape…. Irvin goes down, the stadium cheers, stadium goes quiet, then the stretcher comes out, ROARS of cheers took over the stadium as even your own players were pleading with the fans to be quiet. Your fans were well aware of the severity of the injury… perhaps not ‘career ending’ however they literally doubled down on their cheering once the stretcher came out! Go back and watch the tape!

Need more examples? Remember the punching the police horse incidents? how bout when chief Zee got beat up? How about your fans throwing batteries at your own coach, Doug Peterson? How about pelting opposing fans with snowballs mercilessly?

How about 4 days ago when this nice ‘small sub sector’ of eagles fans flipped a d*mn car!

This is not a small sub sector of fans, in general, ‘It’s a Philly Thing’😉

There is absolutely no sympathy or love lost for your fanbase. The last thing a Philly sports fan has the right to do is act like a victim

You keep throwing out this word “victim”

I was never playing victim, and I don’t think anyone else in this thread was either.

We were finding humor in this boards obsession with posting about Philadelphia and it’s sports teams. Or the double standard of pointing out events and holding grudges (I.e booing Dak) but ignoring embarassing events for your own teams (I.e. F U Navy chants from Rutgers students). That’s not playing victim dodo bird.

Most of us who were at the RU-Navy game you’re referencing never heard any “F the Navy” chants from students.

My guess is that, if it happened at all, it was from a handful of tipsy students. The only reason we know about it is because it was made a headline in the Star Liar from well known Dbag reporter Mark Dionno. Dionno served as a scrub seamen in the Navy, so he had an axe to grind. Plus he hates RU.

Dionno and his son sat in front of me at the RAC for a game and I spent some time talking to him. I came away feeling sorry for the kid to have Dionno as a father.

You might not have heard it but I was a freshman that year in the student section. It was more than a handful and very audible.

But you’re right. They were tipsy and dumb students. I don’t judge a whole fanbase off those morons and I wouldn’t expect anybody else to.

Stick to the topic. None of us are saying that our fans don't have a reputation or that some of them haven't done some sh*tty stuff at times..... We're saying that the majority of Eagles' fans aren't that way. But you keep insisting over and over again that they are. I've known hundreds of Eagles' fans as friends and associates, and none of them have done, or condone, the things that you've repeatedly been suggesting that all Philadelphia fans do.

And ten to one odds say you were the initial instigator in your ketchup incident, or else you dripped it on yourself eating french fries and you can't help tying to pin the blame on innocent Eagles' fans... (wink).

I remember hearing one of the big 80s players, Lyle Alzado maybe, say the worst fan bases were Philadelphia, New Orleans and Oakland but that while in Philadelphia they acted crazy in New Orleans they really were crazy. New York area teams have some pretty bad fans but maybe not quite enough to land in the elite ranks.

For Football, my late Dad and his group go back to the Yankee Stadium days. He and his gang shared some stories but nothing IMO that crazy.

When those guys aged out I noticed a change at Giants Stadium. Not for the better.

I can also remember some wild times watching the Jets at Shea. Much different vibe than Giants games.

For the Giants I noticed the change when they got better and started playing more Monday night and eventually Sunday night games.

Older crowd usually sold those tickets. Many times you didn’t know who was sitting around you.

When there’s no smoke, there’s no fire. Listen to the way you wrote that response.. it’s almost as though you want some sort of credit for an instance where opposing fans did not get harassed or abused when that’s simply the status quo for any other nfl city. Do you want a cookie?

FU navy chants happened almost 2 decades ago… Philly fans were flipping cars and the city was greasing the light polls 5 days ago…. If it was an isolated incident, sure, heck maybe even 2 or 3 times.. but nope, your fans continue to make fools of themselves year after year and deserve every bit of scrutiny you deserve..

Karma sucks though, which is why you keep losing in championship games!😂

Here’s the problem, you have more ‘idiot fans’ than any other nfl city and as a result of their actions have developed the reputation your city has. There is absolutely no changing it. Until eagles fans learn to behave they will always have this reputation. And yes, it’s because of this vocal section of your fans who year after year continue to represent themselves in the worst possible way.

As for the ketchup, I guarantee you are wrong… here’s what happened. I showed up to the linc in a T.O. Cowboys jersey his first game back in Philadelphia. If you wanna call that instigating have at it. The moment I walked in it was abuse. I was also 17 years old at the time and legitimately scared at times as I had a group of 40-50 year olds lambasting me and my best friend the entire game. All good though, the cowboys won!

How many fans of other teams are flipping cars BEFORE a game? I’ll wait

Yea no **** the reason I brought it up was because someone on page 1 was saying how awful booing Dak was and supportive of why “Eagles fans get what they deserve”.

I brought it up to show the double standard.

No NY fans remember Rutgers students chanting “FU Navy” but I bet in 20 years some of your geeks will still be talking about how awful Philly fans are because they booe’d Dak at the Super Bowl.

Nope, the idiots in Philly. The ones who every year make fools of themselves and have to band together like you are doing now with fellow Philly fans because the rest of the league understands how obnoxious your fans are. You don’t see this in buffalo, Pittsburgh, San francisco, even Dallas. Nope only in Philly are fans flipping cars before the super bowl… after all, ‘It’s a Philly Thing!’ Lol

But keep crying, nice to see you supporting each other considering the rest of the league knows how dogsh*t your fanbase behaves😂

It’s not a double standard because I’ll flat out lambast anyone who defends our fans chanting that… it was stupid and uncalled for, kinda like eagles fans booing dak on Sunday, stupid and uncalled for.

We Probably won’t remember booing Dak, though maybe because you keep getting butthurt about taking warranted criticism about it… but flipping cars BEFORE the game and the city greasing the light polls? Oh yea, that’s living on in infamy with the flyers bracelet and Santa Clause affairs…😂😂

Also, you were yelling about NYC earlier, which has nothing to do with your idiot fanbases behavior towards Irvin😉

Lastly, who punches horses and pukes on 11 year olds? Philly fans! Lol

Child I’m laughing my *** off at this! A group of Philly fans butthurt about their third championship loss in a row who are out trying to act as though you have a normal fanbase. You have not once denounced eagles fans booing dak, instead attempted to deflect the conversation to the navy chant in order to dance around something that was clearly wrong that you didn’t want to admit

Let’s try this together, ‘Booing Dak for winning the man of the year award was wrong, our fans were wrong’…. Now you try!

Buddy this thread was started and driven by NY and Cowboy fans like yourself.

Y’all were butthurt that the Eagles were in the Super Bowl and it clearly shows throughout this thread.

Of course booing Dak was stupid. I am not going to deny that like you claim. You’re so dense you still can’t comprehend why I brought up the FU Navy chant - it had nothing to do with deflecting but everything to do with showing how you fools only cling on/remember the stupid **** Philly fans do…because you’re obsessed with us lol.

Bro, super bowl appearances mean absolutely nothing… talk to a buffalo fan. I promise you no one is going to care or remember that the eagles lost in the super bowl and be jealous of it.

No no, what happened was your team just played in the most watched Sporting event of the year and lost, and as a result of your fans previous behavior now have to hear some ****…

Genuinely an eagles fan (or any other fanbase for that matter) calling a cowboys fan ‘obsessed with us’ is rich.. no no, cowboys fans are obsessed with their own team, the rest of our division hates us. Eagles fans are far and away the most obnoxious about it, so yes, this post is nothing more than to kick you while you’re down for no other reason than it’s fun and you’re fanbase deserves it. No one was making fun of the chiefs last year when they lost…. Nope until the parade it’s a merciless assault. FFS you have your own alumni players going on national tv calling our qb ‘trash’. In Philly? Yea pretty much you lose either way.. mls cup, World Series, now super bowl. Yea in Philly there’s a thing about losing… ‘It’s a Philly Thing!’😂

Though here’s a wild idea, maybe if you don’t want to see people making jokes about the eagles after they lose in the super bowl, avoid the thread titled ‘Cry Eagles Cry’, it’s likely not going to be something you want to read👍

You seem to care an awfullll lot about a team you don’t root for.

How many posts and hours of your life are you gonna waste in this thread?

Again - you’re proving my point! If the Giants or even pathetic Cowboys lost in the Super Bowl I wouldn’t be running to this board like a little dweeb posting non stop for weeks.

I have better things to do with my life than post about teams Im not a fan of. Clearly yourself and others can’t say the same. Get out and get a life my man.

I’m glad you are so sure of yourself that you represent all eagles fans because I can GUARANTEE if the cowboys lost in the super bowl there would be threads.

You see you’re trying to be cute by stating I keep commenting which takes literally 2 min while it’s driving you crazy that someone is bashing your team.

Re-read the thread dumbf*ck, GTFO of here telling me to get out of a thread titled ‘Cry Eagles Cry’ as you wallow in your cities inability to win the big one…. After all, It’s a Philly thing!

Rent free? Child there’s not a team on planet earth that lives more rent free in peoples heads than the Dallas cowboys.

You see I’ve got nothing better to do right now, took a vacation day and it’s raining so can’t play golf and my wife is at work so why now rile up a couple iggles fans? Lol. that’s not getting worked up, that’s seeing how ridiculous you and others will sound as you spill nonsense about living ‘rent free’ to a cowboys fan.

Idiot this thread came up after you lost in the super bowl, it’s not a random ‘bash the eagles’ thread. You literally just played in the single most watched television event of the year and lost…. You took it upon yourself to find this thread and make a ridiculous deflection with the navy chant as your initial response because you are still upset your team lost. Not because the eagles live ‘rent free’ which is a cute thing people say to themselves to get over their own losses

Every time you respond you are further solidifying how butthurt you are, I love it! Get some new material though rather than regurgitating Stephan A Smith with ‘cockroach’

Cry!

Philadelphia - where it's a "tough market" not due to on the field success and tangible expectations (ahem, Yankees), but because of belligerent fans. That's really the entire city's sports in a nutshell.

Wiki spitting truth that can basically be rinse-repeated across all the teams in Philly:

Because of, and in spite of, their longevity and rabid fan base, the Phillies are a team historically associated with futility. They were the first American sports franchise to amass over 10,000 losses; the team holds the world record for most ever losses by a single team in all of professional sports.

Sadddd you’re wasting your day off posting so much about a team you don’t even root for.

Only one that’s getting riled up is you pal. Go back and read your last post - I can see I really struck a nerve ouch.
I’ve spent about 30 min total… all good! **** talking is a favorite pastime and your still so upset that you keep responding!

Here’s the reality, I’ll just go about my day happily when you stop responding, the fact that you keep doing it and attempting a 4 year old ‘I am rubber you are glue defense’ is honestly comical. I appreciate you falling right into this and letting me keep going as you cry!

As for ‘striking a nerve’ Typically the only thing people from Philly are striking are cars in the streets as they flip them before the super bowl!😂👍

I’m not upset, crying or playing victim. Keep it repeating yourself but it won’t make it true lol.

But so far we’ve learned 1) you are obsessed with a team you don’t even root for 2) you don’t have a life and 3) you have some anger management issues

I’m not surprised your wife goes to work when you take the day off haha.

I am rubber you are glue, whatever you say…

Thought I would try out the elementary response you have been using to slow things down a bit for you and get to a ‘Philly Level’.

Keep responding! Keep crying! Your team lost! They lost!!! Hahahahaha LOSERS!!

Also, the whole country hates your fanbase. As for obsessed, this is literally the first eagles thread I have ever responded on. As for anger management, fortunately for me someone in this conversation understands the idea of ‘time and place’ and another continues to get butthurt and respond in a thread titled ‘cry eagles cry’.

I can have some anger issues sure but you have a thing about being a cuckold, so I will take the anger any day😉

Cry

I feel like you're misinterpreting this entire interaction. I get the sense that you think I'm going to be triggered by your juvenile taunts. Listen, the result of any game will have no effect on my well-being or my level of happiness. If you're trying to insult me by calling out losses by teams I root for, you're barking up the wrong tree. Quite frankly, your obsession is pathetic. You clearly take this stuff way too seriously.

Just today, and only because it upsets you all enough to keep responding. As for the results of not winning championships having ‘no result on my well-being’ we both know that’s not true. In a literal health sense sure, in a psychological sense no way. There is no way you as an eagles fan who has taken the time to post on sports message boards would not be happier the next day had they won. The fact that ya’ll keep responding keeps this going!😂👍
