Based on the prices on Stubhub and SeatGeek there’s pretty strong demand for tickets. That’s an indicator of PSU fan interest. SHI will be at least 1/3rd PSU fans. At least.
There are over 1500 seats available just on stub hub. They been giving away tickets the last week. There will be plenty of empty seats. I also think you are way over estimating the amount of Penn State fans there. While there will be tons of due to proximity but there is absolutely no buzz to this game on the Penn State side. Add in a holiday weekend and cold weather and you will have a ton of no shows.
I would normally think that but half my tailgate cannot go to the game and I sold a parking pass and tickets for a lot of money on StubHub. I could not give them away for other games this year. Even with the cold people are paying top dollar and this is essentially a playoff for a bowl bid. I think people will be surprised since Rutgers fans are bailing.
kids are away for break, every fan I know isn't wasting their time any longer so my guess is, that view is widespread so...................half PSU fans

But is it really? Even with a win, RU is still only 6-6 (a record fluffed with 3 garbage OOC games) and GS 2.0 is still our coach.
Beating PSU would be wonderful, but a win won't change who/what this program is.
Sure it will. Look at PSUs losses. Most were very close games. They were a toe tap away from beating IU. This would be a huge win against a strong opponent.
Beating penn state to finish 6-6 would be biggest big 10 win ever and biggest win sunce 2006 not to mention first win since 1988

Agree it’s a huge opportunity. However we have all seen Greg’s performance in games we are underdogs. It’s not pretty.

100% on this. People have an agenda to push and will claim no matter what they are 20K Penn State fans. BTW, 30-40% of the BIG House is dressed in scarlet today.

Rutgers can't play Ohio State or Oregon every week. Only a dumbass would suggest that Rutgers schedule was too weak this season.
2 out of those 3 “garbage teams” will be bowling and as for our big ten schedule, only Purdue and Maryland aren’t bowl teams. I definitely wish we’d won some of the close ones (Iowa and minny) and we lucked out not seeing mich or Indy but the schedule being too weak was not this years problem.
No, weak programs schedule 3 garbage teams. Most seasons are the same. Win the 3 garbage games, win 2-3 games against the lower tier of the B1G, get blown out in the other 6 games with average and top B1G teams. Sneak into the Pinstripe Bowl. LOL!
Remember, last season we didn't play OSU, Mich, PSU, or Oregon.....can still couldn't get to .500 in the B1G.

Rutgers played two ranked teams this season, Ohio State and Oregon, least in B1G.
Other B1G teams played 3 to 6 ranked teams.

That stat is from when you played them, where they were ranked. So, a bunch of schools played psu, Illinois, Washington and Iowa while they were ranked, we just so happened to play them when they weren't.
