Just curious on how the crowd is looking so far in Boise, Id. I have no doubt Big Blue will pack the seats.

Have a buddy there that said there seems to be a fair amount of UK fans. Not sure what the attendance tonight will be but I would think 2-3k would be UK fans.

Person posting live from yesterday's (or Tuesday?) open practice claimed 150-200 UK fans there, so that's actually promising given it was just a practice.

Given it's the most ridiculous location in America to hold an NCAA tournament session, I'll be tickled to hear we have a couple thousand there to represent.

We seemed to have a nice crowd. I talked to UK fans from Bozeman, MT and Jackson, WY. Can't wait for the game!

I've traveled to many first and second round games when UK was playing and historically, regardless of the game location, the crowd turnout has been relatively small compared to the Regional Finals and certainly the SEC tournament. I hope we have a large delegation. The young Cats need our support.

They are freaking morons. There are 2 sites out west with only about 8 teams from that part of the country this year and then they make it worse swapping Boise for Seattle. That is 2,404 miles from Lexington. Hopefully we don't get screwed with that location. At least it might be cheaper to fly there than Boise. We have to hope for Columbus I guess. We definitely have to get a very high seed so we get the Yum Center Regional site.

One thing I think is DUMB about our fanbase is how much time and money the fanbase spends on SEC Tourney when the NCAA 1st / 2nd round is SO MUCH more important. I wish more would allocate resources toward the first weekend of the NCAA tourney...

Well it likely costs way more for tickets and hotel for the same amount of days with less amount of games (2 instead of likely 3). Plus you can plan for it a year in advance. You have a couple of days to figure everything out for the opening round and spending around 3k for 2 people for the first 2 games is a bit excessive (airfare, hotel, tickets, food, souvenirs). You can at least have more time to plan for the regional site.

Yeah, but the SEC tourney is more fun.

Who are you to tell people how to spend their money?

Are you in Boise supporting the team right now?

To be fair though it’s a hell of a lot easier to plan for the sec tourney when you know where it’s going to be at and UK will be there years in advanced. With the NCAA tourney you have a weeks notice and your being sent out pretty far sometimes

I see your point, but it just frustrates me that our fanbase spends to much time / money / energy on a tournament that A) doesn't matter (as the selection show reminds us every year), B) no one in our league cares about except for UK (minor exception at places like Arkansas, Tennessee and Mizzou), and C) means very little in the big scheme of things while NCAA tourney games are what all of america (including our fanbase) cares most about. It's just odd to me.

The crowd is freakin crazy. Just like every crowd outside of Rupp Arena, these fans are yelling and screaming every single second at the top of their lungs.

The arena is packed so it’s not a bad hosting site. The locals fill this place up.

The crowd is evenly from all schools, all pissed that they are in Boise Idaho, and wondering what the hell they are going to do for the next 2 days. lmao

if you have the SEC tournament close to KY they will come and pack the place. IF the NCAA would be fair and give KY a location close to KY people will come and pack that place also. But when place a SEC tournament then they send you 1800 miles away to a 12,000 seat arena and they jack up the prices not many people can go. NOW let KY win and get to Atlanta LOOK OUT
