I just wish we had that one run where our band got to play “the bells” instead of waiting for an advertisement and the Michigan band play, over again. The crowd was ready to erupt and then nothing. Had we taken the lead in the second half it would’ve been game over crowd noise-wise and game-wise I think.

Yeah, no sustained run nor a slam dunk to get the crowd rollin

But RU did take a brief 1-point lead in the 2nd half, could have extended it but bricked shots

You guys are nuts. It was like 75-25 Rutger fans, maybe even 80-20. Totally outnumbered Michigan, great showing by RU. Had so much fun

Where you were sitting affected the perspective. Literally, of course. 107 was heavy Michigan people so it made it seem like a 50/50 crowd overall. I would go with 60/40 Rutgers.

I did think the players could have used the “Hoosiers” (movie) move of measuring the court and the baskets before the game. It just seemed like they felt they were on a bigger stage than they were used to.

It’s funny, because MSG workers were measuring the height of the hoops about an hour before the game and I remarked to my friend that I had never seen that before.

I loved the atmosphere at the game. The fact there were two competing crowds with a likely 70/30 RU advantage made for a fun atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was to have each team backed by a sizeable fan base.

We may have had the crowd advantage, but Michigan had the court advantage. As the article posted in another thread said, “MSG is a home away from home for Michigan”.
Michigan at that RAC is as must a win as Northwestern is - or Michigan will once again be Rutgers ‘National Nemesis’. A loss could very well cost us an NCAA berth. Plus they need to finally break the Jinx vs this team. And convincingly!
