No need to talk in code. Stone Blanton's brother owns a NIL company and was tweeting at recruits (Jaheim Oatis) to sign with Ole Miss. Don't know if he's considered a booster or if you can legally do that as an NIL person. Either way, it's not shocking.

Blanton also signed Malik Heath to a NIL deal and rumor that Heath may explore transfer portal options after the season…Heath is listed as a Senior, but has another year due to Covid.

So ready for this initial NIL 'high' to blow over. Eventually kids will realize that your actual football playing future is more important than some piddling NIL money that you will get anywhere. It's going to screw over a few kids though, before we get to that point. Always does. These guys lately have had to deal with a lot, from COVID to NIL.

If you want some money as a recruit, take the under the table cash, at least you don't have to pay taxes.

Heath won't be a big loss. He has been disappointing. And tbh I'm tired of Blanton flip flopping. If he doesn't know where he wants to go by now he is not a very good decision maker. Wouldn't surprise me in the least. I had high hopes for him, but dude just hasn't got right. He has always seemed like the typical Ole Miss WR in my mind. For whatever reason we've never been able to get those mouthy, cocky high-talent guys to do right at MSU.

One thing's for certain, he's had his chances.

Size and athletic ability is tough to replace but it will only take you so far if between the ears can’t get right. That’s just life.

Not sure what’s Heath’s problems are. Hard to believe that you have much of a chance at the next level if you can’t get a handle on Leach’s system. Gotta learn to find space and learn to settle in the voids. Not many WR’s just flat running by DB’s in the NFL.

If Keith Carter himself walks up and hands a recruit a bag of money, and NCAA says “you can’t do that”, the SCOTUS has already deemed the NCAA’s position to be a violation of anti-trust law. We need to figure out how to be as sleazy as possible in recruiting, just like everybody else.

Not suddenly, no. But over 3-5 years, I would expect things to settle in. That's why I don't freak out at some of the stupidity of the last few months.

He's not flipflopped. He's committed to no one in football. Now many MSU fans have considered him a lock at one point, then got nervous about things when he didn't commit yet. But give the guy a chance to finish his process and make his decision.
