High Schools in the State of Georgia had 613 players on Power 5 rosters this past season... Hopefully Leach expands his recruiting area to the State of Georgia since several of his assistants have recruiting experience there...

 

[The Situation]

Georgia players are on a ton of rosters because every school on the east side of the country flies to Atlanta to recruit. There's nothing inherently better about Georgia players.

MSU's best bet is to recruit within 5-6 hours of Starkville. Being able to drive to get them is our advantage. Mullen had the strategy right, he just didn't execute it perfectly all the time. If you want players outside of that radius, it better be because a coach has a specific tie to that player/high school/coach, such as Leach knowing somebody in Texas due to time spent there. Of course, Georgia is in this radius, so sure. But Louisiana players are just as talented, I'd personally rather spend our time there and in Alabama, less competition, lower hanging fruit.
