Why the F did he go for 2? Now they are down 9 and have to score twice. If you kick the PAT you are only down 1 possession. Idiotic decision.
Just remember who you are dealing with hereMSUCostanza said:You actually coached football? Jeebus that is hilarious.
Go for two on the tying touchdown, not on the TD before it. It's dumb. You don't get the 2, you're down 9 and the game is over. Kick the PAT and you are still just one possession down.
Hell I can't believe he is a state fan. I doubt he was ever eitherMSUCostanza said:I cannot believe someone allowed this guy to coach football.
patdog said:You've got to go for 2 either now or on the next TD, and no matter when you go for it if you miss it you've got to score an additional time to win. I'd just as soon find out I've got to score two more times with 2:45 left on the clock than find out with 15 seconds on the clock that I've got to score again. And if you've got all 3 time outs left with 2:45 left going for 2 now might affect whether or not you have to try on onsides kickoff or not.

This is exactly how I see it.........patdog said:You've got to go for 2 either now or on the next TD, and no matter when you go for it if you miss it you've got to score an additional time to win. That doesnt even make sense. if you kick the extra point then atleast you have a CHANCE to tie it in the last 2 minutespatdog said:MTSU's 2-point play DIDN'T WORK. And if it didn't work with 2:45 left in the game, what makes you think it would work in the final seconds of the game? You'd rather miss a 2-point conversion with 2:45 left in the game than in the final seconds. At least then you have some time to try to do something about it.
In reality, we're arguing about not much of anything. Whether you miss the 2-point conversion with 2:45 left in the game or in the final seconds, you are screwed either way.

Woody? Woody? Coach Woody McCorvey, is that you?Coach34 said:"if you kick the extra point then atleast you have a CHANCE to tie it in the last 2 minutes "
If they had made it, all they would have had to do is kick the XP the next time....if they arent going to convert the two, it doesnt matter if you were only down 8 cause you would still be down 2...the problem is not converting, not when they did it
