You're right but you won't convince anyone on here of that. Was the officiating good? No, but it wasn't as bad as everyone on here will make it out to be. We forget easy the lack of inside play, poor game from Tyler, no other scoring options outside of Murray, and just atrocious defense. That looked like the kind of D we played about a month ago.

The foul calls against Poy should be investigated. Poy was back peddling and a Vandy player ran into him and tripped and fell and they called a foul on Poy. I have never seen anything like that before in my life.

Agree that was a brutally bad call at a critical juncture of the game. Even worse, a Vandy player got away with a travel on the previous play and Lee got called for a clean block on the next play. We didn't deserve to win considering that we shot ice cold from the line and didn't rebound, but the refs were putrid today.

The trip calls are silly. If someone just falls over, there could be no one within 5 feet (John Wall got called for one of those) and they will find a way to call the foul. Like I could be laying on the couch and some guy jumps over me and trips over my knee and it is a foul on me by their logic. Or when some guy grunts like he is fouled and the official didn't see it and then he airballs it so they call a foul because there is no other way he could've missed it.

The SEC put Ayers on this game for a reason.

SEC basketball has been horrible to watch all season due to the awful officiating. Rarely do games have any flow to them.

Been watching basketball all weekend, NBA, NCAAW, all day today and no game has been this one sided with the calls. So if the people stating that we are biased and it's not true, then what is true?

If the multiple websites, forums, call in shows, are all wrong about biased SEC road officials then what

And no, I don't mean by the teams.. Serious question. Anyone know what the major conference refs get paid compared to what NBA refs make? I watch a fair amount of NBA and the difference in quality is substantial. Is the issue that the good refs just move on to the NBA and the NCAA refs that stick around just suck? I try to be as bi-partisan as I can when watching the games - I frequently note when bad calls go in our favor as well. The quantity of terrible officiating this season has been mind blowing.

And no, I'm not saying the refs are why we lost this game - but to deny that the bad officiating doesn't have at the very least an IMPACT on the game is laughable.

In this game alone:
Travel on Poythress
Poythress' last foul (and really several of his fouls)
Lee's block
No foul on Murray's three
The out of bounds on Vandy wasn't really close

Just maddening to me that there are apparently no repercussions for this pitiful officiating. We will see the same refs next year and likely for years to come. Makes it so hard to watch.

I hate to talk about the officials after a loss but how awful does it have to get for some sort of investigation into how these games are officiated.

If the league would just announce that Ky is going to lose this game and that is just the way it is. I think the disappointment would much less. I suppose I know we usually get a screwing on the road but I still always hope for the best. If we're not 20 points better than the other team on the road, we are done.

SEC league. Please just tell us. Cancel the game. We can handle the disappointment better when we know for sure ahead of time. Geez

Yeah that was a clean block by Lee.
Murray got fouled a few times on layups and of course crickets.
It wouldnt be so made but the refs break it off in UK in Rupp too.

A busy SEC ref can make over $100K. Keep in mind that they are considered part-time and many have vocations, like Karl Hess, that is non-basketball related. They do okay.

Officiating is comically bad and the only ones that can't see this are the ones in charge.

That's scary.

Love how after every loss there are those that say "this loss isn't on the refs." OK, sure. Let's just give them a free pass. There is no way they can do any wrong because no matter how bad the calls are noone (coaches or players) can call them out without getting fined or blasted as being a crybaby.

WE all know this . Yet the SEC is head in the sand . Now if that happened to Bama their would be a huge deal.

Boycott the game in Gainesville. No tv, no ticket sales. Let the conference see what happens when you continuously screw the only fanbase in your conference that cares.

Although this 100% would work, see Mizzou football, it would never happen. To many fair weather fans to make a legit stand.

The Cats got seriously hosed by the refs as usual---i'm tired of this terrible officiating in every game! Cal needs to protest to the league office!

Watching UVA - UNCheat game. Refs letting them hammer each other. SEC refs call every ticky tack foul. Makes game unbearable.

No you haven't. If you did, you would have watched SEC team after sec SEC team choke away shots at making the tournament.

Texas am could have made the tournament last year. 21-8. They lost three straight including first sec tourney game.

Ole Miss was 20-10. Lost last game at home to Vandy and first sec game to south Carolina.
Poy makes a great reverse lay up that would have cut the lead to 1 with about 4 minutes and that Fing zebra called a ******** travel.
I hate the SEC officials.
What was so bad was Vandy went right down put up a shot. Skal got pushed in the back (mentioned by announcers and no foul) the kid puts up a shot and gets a and one. ********!

I have no idea why my thread was merged. Some of you mods need to get a grip. You lost the title of my thread AND THAT HAD THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!!!!!! Dammit I hate that crap. As I was trying to say before I was rudely interrupted, Cal is now 5-7 at UK with Ayers as an official. That is half of Cals normal winning percentage.

I've always been a "don't blame the refs" person and on national boards I'm pretty aggressive about that if I don't avoid the topic entirely, but it has gotten ridiculous this season. I know it wouldn't seem so bad if we had a competent big man but our guards are getting screwed too. I've never enjoyed watching Kentucky basketball less than this season since I became a fan, including both of the NIT seasons.
