Especially the local club soccer on the same board as basketball and football. I was interested and liked seeing this become as I noted before, a Board within a Board, as a Posting Topic for local primary/under 18 league soccer followers. But it kind of gets in the way on the free board.I think having all sports on one board is a little counter productive. I’m interested in TU basketball talk and some international soccer, everything else is just something to wade through for me. I plan to post more when basketball season starts, maybe even when we get a schedule, but until then or World Cup it’s just a pain for me to go multiple clicks just to find nothing interesting.
it wasn't my intention to cause a distraction, i just miss the old interactions. there were always new threads going and a variety of subjects. now, the same matters must be paid for and as mentioned, many posters have vanished. it detaches me from the program. i feel like just a visitor not a member anymore.
Everything is pretty close to the same, but all the message board action is in Hurricane Alley now, instead of it being split between there and the free boards. As far as a money grab, there was literally no choice -- On3 purchased Rivals -- so it was either move to On3 or walk away completely.i sure miss the old site. nothing here anymore. on3 was just a money grab. as usual, the little man gets the shaft
I'll give that some thought.Maybe even split up the pay sections in a more refined way.
We actually have more subscribers since the move, which leads to more action in Hurricane Alley -- which makes since, as that is where all the premium content, inside info and expert analysis is found. As for free board posters, their usernames and logins weren't brought over, so they have to create new accounts, and that's been the main reason the free board doesn't have much activity since the move.I think we lost a number of free board posters when we moved, and hope 'some' of them come back, and we get some new posters as well. I feel like the pay board is a lot closer to what it was with the old board.
I like a lot of what they are doing with hired staff for on3 and better coverage in many respects on recruiting. I don't like the format of recruiting info over here as much, but that's just because I have to do a little more work cutting and pasting into my recruiting info. But the recruiting info is better no matter whether the format is better for me.
I totally get your point. Some posters have just switched over to Hurricane Alley, and we have a ton of lurkers, but I know several longtime free board folks that just haven't signed up over here yet. I'd encourage you to do the $1 for a week deal to check things out here (Hurricane Alley and premium articles), plus all the content across the entire On3 network. If you don't see the value, you simply cancel at the end of the week.i just miss the old interactions. there were always new threads going and a variety of subjects. now, the same matters must be paid for and as mentioned, many posters have vanished. it detaches me from the program. i feel like just a visitor not a member anymore.
Gold wasn't posting much before the move. Huffy is still around, just hasn't been posting...he'll be back at some point. What happened to Gold* and HuffyCane?
Didn't always agree with them.
They were never shy of giving their opinions.
Must have moved on to greener pastures.
I’m hearing Zac Robinson and Kinne are 1a and 1b.CBS sports is listing G J Kinne as the leading candidate for Osu job today from Texas State he makes 2 Million s year not a stretch for Osu to double that at $4 Million a year or more.
I heard from an OkState fan who was at the game last Friday that Robinson is the favorite if he wants it.I’m hearing Zac Robinson and Kinne are 1a and 1b.
And if he doesn’t want it because it is not a big 10 acc sec job as big 12 is not relevant without Texas and Oklahoma it’s Our old qb Kinne after they said for years we and the aac are trash lol and they would fire their coach if we ever beat them and they did lolI heard from an OkState fan who was at the game last Friday that Robinson is the favorite if he wants it.
The ONLY reason I subscribed is because On3 said it was the ONLY way my account history back to the AZ board would come back.Everything is pretty close to the same, but all the message board action is in Hurricane Alley now, instead of it being split between there and the free boards. As for the On3 content, I totally agree. They have hired some of the top national guys in both college football and college basketball, and the recruiting coverage is MUCH better as well.

I am with you but I had money to pay to get my history back. College Sports is fully embracing the semi-pro nature now, and they are leaving fans like us behindI'm not allowed to pay for internet so I'm stuck here on the free board with almost no one to talk to. Chris was able to get my username back for me but I lost 24 years of posting history in the process. I've found that I don't miss the interactions as much as I thought I would, but I do miss the opinions from the King of Queens fan. I wonder what happened to him?
My point was that it wasn't a money grab for me or Inside Tulsa Sports. We are making less money on this platform. If we didn't move to On3, the site would no longer exist and there would be no TU message boards at all. We still have a free board despite On3 not wanting free boards at all. This was a money grab, I am proof of that. All I want is the low maintenance, ad driven, community board so I can vent my frustrations as yet another team from the College I love stinks up the field/court because the administration sucked for decades. I dont care about recruiting, I don't care about non-revenue sports unless they are winning championships or beating OSU like a drum.
I will not be renewing because the content isn't worth it to me and $150 to post 100 times a year seems excessive. If the pay board will be the only place any conversation happens on game day, I'll be moving on...
I have a feeling if free members don't get too impatient some new members and some old members will eventually show up and it could reach the level it was at. But asking anybody to have patience these days and to stick around for a little longer usually falls on deaf ears, and the free board will die. So Chris, you are saying if On3 hadn't come around, the board would yahoo board would have gone out of business? If so, wow. Newspapers are having trouble and we can't make a sports board succeed w/o giving the people less money to run it.My point was that it wasn't a money grab for me or Inside Tulsa Sports. We certainly won't be able to make everyone happy, and if you don't care about in-depth team coverage or recruiting, then I totally understand not subscribing. I appreciate your input.
On3 purchased Rivals from Yahoo, but Yahoo still has a stake in it as part of the deal. If that deal had not happened, the old site (ITS on Rivals/Yahoo) would still be around. However, once On3 purchased Rivals, On3 could have canceled our contract...but I negotiated with them, and they agreed to take our site. Other sites, like the Arkansas State and ULM sites weren't so fortunate. So Chris, you are saying if On3 hadn't come around, the yahoo board would have gone out of business? If so, wow. Wow, well thanks for negotiating less money for the site, and managing to keep @Larry Lewis, @Bill Lowery, and company along for the ride for less money.On3 purchased Rivals from Yahoo, but Yahoo still has a stake in it as part of the deal. If I had not negotiated a deal with On3, the other choice would have been to call it quits, and On3/Rivals would have went on down the road without a Tulsa site.
