I think Crest and Shelby fans need to take a step back. This wasn't Burns /RS..This was two championship caliber teams leaving it all on the field. Both did things wrong. Both exposed each others weaknesses. Both made great plays. Crest came out on top. We make each other better.
We know Ac is good,but both theses teams have improved also...I still say Rico one of best Athletes in NC...

Brought it up because they all talked crap when rose scored 48 on havelock defense and they have the same exactly playing style as shelby with better wide outs and a better running back that's why I brought it up and crest defense has a weakness same as havelock weakness the passing game I don't think anyone has a 100+ yard rushing game on havelock defense lmao but u can pass on them for sure if u can't pass u lose it's that simple cause what crest is very few teams in the state can do against havelock shut them down and run it down their throats no one has yet to do that since crest in states I think they took that personal But like I said good luck to shelby and crest they have a great county for football and. I acknowledge it as much as I hate crestrulz but craven county is just as good
Rico is the real deal, best athlete in the state IMO. Just don't believe he can beat Crest on his own. ACR may match up better with Crest than us. Better run D than Shelby.

What's wrong with Shelby's run defense? They manhandled Harbison except for 5 big plays. I say Shelby has the best run defense in all of 2A and 75 percent of 3A. Special teams hurt Shelby more than even the stupid celebrating penalties.

Chazz Surratt of East Lincoln is best athlete in the state. Rico is top 3 running back (playing QB) in state for certain.
Great game, great atmosphere. We had our chances but fail to capitalize. I just hope that Justin Foster and Darquez Lee's injuries aren't significant.
I had gotten to know Foster some, I saw him at the Y often in the preseason. He's just a breath of fresh air. He's very intelligent and well spoken, respectful, too. He's just a well rounded young man, period. I hope he's good, and this injury is just a minor set back.

Congrats to both teams for representing the County well .....We're trying to get something good going over here. Crest and Shelby are more seasoned at this point to claim Titles again, but we're going to try and make some noise too. First things first....win the next one.
Surratt is a stud, no doubt, but he faces inferior competition. The opposition in the conference that he plays in is super weak.

Of the top 55 players in NC. Rico dowdle wasnt in the top 55. Of those 55 6 of them were runningbacks. Rico wasnt part of the 6. Is he a top 10 runningback in NC? Yes most likely. Top 10 athlete in all of nc? That's really pushing it for a guy that didnt make the shrine bowl.

Let's be real whoever made that list probably has not seen all the top players in the state play. Also the list was probably made before the season. Rico has blown up this season . Rico will probably be the 3a state player of the year. He has picked up multiple acc offer during the season and there are plenty of players that play in the shrine bowl that don't have acc offers. We all know how political that is. You don't do what he did against Shelby and west Forsyth and not be one of the top players in the state.
He didn't attend any of the shrine bowl combines, and that 's the reason he wasn't selected.

Weddington lost tonight, so 4-0 undefeated teams...Crest could possibly play Weddington or Asheville in the second round...kinda messed up. I'll be in Tennessee that weekend, pulling hard for them boyz. here's hoping for a #1 seed.

Game for the ages. Terrific crowd and Crest's student body was fun to watch from the Shelby side. Some low life piece of **** found it entertaining to stand above the rails and say the dumbest crap at the top of his lungs against the Lions. His lady tramp was even worse. One of the top games I have seen in the last ten years.
With the clock running for the 2nd half of the SP game, I got home early and got to somewhat watch and hear the 4th quarter of the Shelby/Crest game on the KTC Broadcast. That would have been a great game to watch and either team could have won. The long 40+ yard pass from Greene on 3rd and long was maybe the difference. Shelby would have had them punting from deep, but Crest suddenly was 1st and 10 in Shelby territory. Losing Lee made it tougher to come back. Crest did what they had to do in the 4th. Both are great teams and should make a lot of noise in the playoffs. Only other thing that I have to add is that Crest sux.
I knew we were in trouble when the officials started picking up flags at the first of the game. The one on Carson for celebrating by himself took Crest from being third and long to a first down then they scored. The intentional grounding on Lee was horrible. Special teams though were the difference led to 21 easy points for Crest.
Shelby punting and pinning Crest deep not count? 10 yard punt by Crest before halftime gave Shelby ball on 35 as well.
I was trying to decide between going to Scotland or Shelby. Went west to see some old friends and the BBQ. Worth the two hour drive!!!
Why did you think the intentional grounding was a bad call? I was in a position where I could not see down the sideline but only the QB. The saw the ball hit the wall of the stands.
Foster for Crest is a monster at LBer. Hamstring, should be ok.
Shelby's wideouts got in space and made plays. Thought that would win the game but Shelby's front seven was battling fatigue and the physicality of Crest by the end of the night. QB must make better decisions and be more consistent but they will not face anyone that will threaten them in the 2A playoffs.
Crest would be very hard to stop if they would develop a intermediate passing game. Harbison run or a deep pass was about it. Round three potential matchup is ACR and regional title game most likely Concord. Do not see them losing there nor to the east rep in the title game.
