Kings Mountain out coached and out played Crest in the second half. Nothing more to say other than congrats. Crest only has one goal now, try to keep the first round streak alive...if that streak falls with this senior heavy crest team, I’d hate to see the fallout that follows...will be interesting to see however.

I watched the game on youtube, and clearly Crest hasn't practiced the 2 minute drill. They had no idea what to do on that last possession. They wasted :10 seconds after a play and then decided to call time out, this with :33 seconds to go. I couldn't figure out what they were trying to do, seemed they just wanted to get in position for a hail mary instead of getting down the field.

You guys did play very well and Lloyd made adjustments in the 2nd half that were very effective the tempo change was huge.

But before our defense had been on the field the entire game and was gassed because the offense couldnt get a first down, our D-line was whipping your O-line and was in the backfield the whole time.

Plus we had 2 starting D-linemen go down with injuries.
Why didn’t we use #1 he started at that position last year smh he just stands on sideline and gets 2 carries a game at backup Rb. Demorreay Surratt #1 speed of the edge

Maybe he missed practice and didnt understand the up the middle play well enough to execute it? LOL
It was a freaking joke. I was taking 10 dollar bets on the play calls and no one would bite. The last minute and 50 seconds of that game was pure keystone cops. I know we're all couch coaches but we've watched enough football to know what we're looking at. Poor #17, they run him death, He's pure class though, that kid gives maximum effort on the one play they let him run. #13 was the best player on the field, period. They let him touch it 3 times on offense. He was banging heads from his safety position.

If the ponies don’t chance up there defense Huss went to the left and Kings Mountain to the little LB number 9 and DB number 11 was on the same side both games it was a Mismatch hope playoff team don’t see that cause it ant going to chance

I agree 100% but I cant help but think the fact that the Crest offense couldnt get a first down causing the Crest defense to spend the entire 2nd half on the field played a huge factor in the KM dominance in the 4th quarter. Same story as the Crest Weddington game those games were alot alike.

But its is what it is we have what we have, we will deal with it and cheer hard in the playoffs. We will most likely be on the road we travel well so maybe we can upset someone.
I’ve watched Crest all year waiting for them to open up their offense more. My thinking during the preseason was that Crest had a veteran team with a returning senior qb so they would probably be a little more dynamic in their play calling. I kept waiting for them to open it up more but the only thing that I seen different was that Crest added a few wrinkles with Zanders. Everything else is the same. I believe it was the week that Crest played Huss that I said in here that Crest was only running about 5 plays and that would not cut it against Huss. I think that once KM realized that Crest was only going to play power football the KM defense dialed in and made it tough on the Crest offense. Crest has to change their offense if it wants to have a chance compete for championships in the near future.

It was plain and simple 1A play calling.

I am seriously concerned because this should have been a state championship contender this year, last year there was a ton on injuries but this year i am just not seeing the improvement.

There should be some major concerns as to what next year holds with this staff if he is struggling to get first downs with this team. This team is loaded and they don't look like they even know what going on.

All the other doesn't bother me as much at the clock management at the end of the game, that rookie coaching mistakes and to have a coach that doesn't understand or cant get that part of it right he is at the wrong school. Because deep in the playoff that will get you beat every time.

Lloyd owned our staff last night and anyone that disagrees is blind. Of course he went brain-dead and tried to throw for a first down on 4th and 2 when they had been getting 7 yards a carry on the ground.

But we will see what the playoffs hold.

Good post man. I was neutral but i swear i have never wanted to see a jet sweep so bad when Crest had the ball......spread the field...let the big QB use that arm and take advantage of all those athletes....anyway best of luck in the playoffs .

Frustrating to see a team with experience, athletes and size play to a likely 9-4 season.

Crest fans, you can tell me to screw myself, but your QB throws much better rolling out in either direction. That’s a skill set that can help all the studs.

Crest is probably the only team that can beat everyone in the playoff bracket but also lose to everyone in the bracket with conservative playcalling lmao

The offense kind of reminds me of that wonderful offense Crest ran back near the end of the Kirby era...

Run to the right 1st down

Run to the left 2nd down

Run up the middle 3rd down

...And punt.

Lol.....from those days you left out a timeout in between 1st down and 2nd down.

He is a high school kid, not a college or a NFL player. This isn’t basketball where kids can jump from high school straight to the pros, he has to be trained and prepared accordingly. I’m not going to sit here and say I know more about football than the Crest football coaches do because I don’t and I never will, I’m also not a veterinarian either, but I know a horses *** when I smell one.

It was just a short season or two ago Crusties were complaining about a 9-2 season and not getting any better? I mean, maybe Nick Saban can turn this pitiful program around. Might be too much pressure to win though.

It's not like that bro. You'd have to see it in person to understand. I'm not talking about Burns, you were clearly out manned this season, I'm talking about the games where you can't just turn and hand it off, where adjustments must be made, where the clock must be managed. It's a football board, I'm just discussing football. I know they've forgotten more than I know, but I know enough to know what I see.

I can understand that. I am not a coach obviously but even I know that you need to space the athletes out and let them work. I thought Crest was used to wildcat or runs up the middle with the Barnes offense?!

True about Barnes, but we had Jalen Moore and Tre Harbison, and offensive line from hell, and we would throw it enough to keep teams honest. I mean, we get yards now, but when you need to make a call, you need to make a call.

Wasting what they have. I mean for crying out loud doing the same thing over and over and getting the same results is mystifying to me.
I know it is hard to swallow that the HIGHLY OVERRATED KM MOUNTIES HAS BEATEN THE MIGHTY CREST CHARGERS FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW, but with what KM has coming back, FOUR in a row is not out the realm of possibilities.

The timing from snapping it the RB direct to run is way differant than snapping it to the QB to hand it off.

But the problem is they no worries about us throwing it they know we are not going to.

#3 lined up wide on the left and was one on one with a corner that had no chance of covering him and after he toasted him on a 50 yard TD pass KM still left him on an island with no safety help because they was concerned with stopping our run up the middle play and he never threw it to him again on a post or down the sideline. #12 for KM was scared to death to get beat again you could see it in his body language, so we bailed him out and never ran that play again.
