I've been a harsh critic but that's a very nice win. I still hate the offense and always will, not my preferred brand of football. That being said....HAIL STATE! Well done Mike Leach and MSU football. Oh, by the way, the M over S helmets need to STAY.

You don't have to like it but you better learn to love it

Won't ever happen. The results sure, if they are good, but I like the running game and smash mouth defense. If you want to see my ideal team right now, look at UGA. I have hated the air raid ever since the first time I saw Mumme and Leach run it against us.

If we tried to do what UGA is doing now, we would get Croom results.

I love smash mouth defense and running the ball too but the way they call the game now you can't have head hunters over the middle. Hell we get dudes kicked out for perfect form tackles.

Exactly. We’ve already tried that ****. See Sherrill and the Croom error. We didn’t move the ball against top tier SEC teams.

I don’t understand why MSU people want smash mouth football. We sucked at it for the better part of 100 years. We finally have a passing game and our fans lose their damn minds.

Give me Will Rogers over Derrick Taite any day.

Your ideal team is the #1 team in the country? Way to go out on a limb there, Bill.

Nope, their style. The results in that case are secondary. I have no rooting interest one way or the other with UGA. I like the running game and smash mouth defense. I absolutely hate pass first offense. As I said if the results are good for is then fine. I don't have to like it or love it if it wins.....FOR US. I do have a rooting interest for MSU.

yoh must be I. Live with 3 win teams because that’s what you would get with that offense at State. Why I hell anyone wants to go that is crazy to me. You would rather lose than throw the ball.

Aesthetically, I’m sure some people would enjoy a team full of OnlyFans models, but I’ll take whatever gets us wins

Have a Forsythe. Doesn’t seem like anybody is willing to step and up and be humble these days. I appreciate it. And I am right there with you. I agree with everything you said and am in the same place. I hate the offense, but honestly, if we run the veer and then run the table, what the 17 do I care? Dubs are all that matters.

As I said, I'm happy when we win, woke the neighbors up with my cowbell when it was over tonight. I just don't like the offense. It's not my thing, and never will be. I'd say it's no surprise that our biggest win under Leach happened to be a game where we had quite a bit more rushing yards than usual.

Bill I hear you but we have decades of smash mouth football history with a losing record.

Mullen says hello, so does Allyn McKeen, and Jackie Sherrill, and Emory Bellard (with Tyler's players), Tyler's veer does too, sort of. Actually the only times in history we did win was pretty much smash mouth. Most of our losing was done when we couldn't do anything at all. Imagine that.

Like Matt Wyatt said last week - we did all that for 100 years and we hardly ever finished above .500 in SEC games. Let’s try something new and embrace it…

Yet Mullen’s best season was a direct result of a QB throwing for 3500+ yards. Imagine that.

Close to a 50-50 mix of run-pass will do that for you. The offense looked very efficient tonight when we weren't getting called for false start and holding penalties. They clearly didn't expect the run in the 1st half and we made them pay. And they never had an answer to the wide pass to the RB the whole night. Rogers was outstanding in the passing game too. A lot of the throws were easy throws, but a lot of them weren't and he was on the money with all of them. Receivers did a great job of getting open and making the catches too. And that last drive was a thing of beauty. Kept the ball the last 8 minutes of the game and there was nothing Kentucky could do about it. Really, if you take away the punt return, that game would have been a blowout.

But he had a QB that could tote it smash mouth, and a RB that could tote it in traffic. Imagine that! That had a lot to do with the passing yards. Done well and unexpectedly passing and running feed off each other. Do only one well and SEC defenses will shut you down. Today perfectly illustrated that. You don't even have to do it 50-50, you just have to have a credible threat to do what you don't really want to.

Lining up and beating the other team physically is a game more of recruiting than coaching, and at the end of the day, that will never be Mississippi State’s strong suit.

Mullens offense was very physical.

I’d honestly prefer a hybrid of Mullen leach but I don’t care if we go rugby style as long as we win!
