Crazy Stats for $500

While the rest of the world wins at a 71% clip when the offense has over 350 yards, Nebraska sits at 31%.

So, if we had any kind of defense we could've won 6 or 7 more games over the last two years?

The fault also resides in being terrible inside the 20 yard line and TOs. Not trying to defend the defense, it’s just that we suck in plenty of phases. Oh yeah, horrible special teams and penalties

All excellent points. Saturday was the perfect example, racking up yards and yet finding ways to NOT score. I wonder what the stats are for yards vs points. We must lead the nation in "least points per 100yds" average or whatever the measure would be.

But yeah, the defense does suck.

edit: bleedhuskered kinda answered that question. Meh.

Defense only gave up 23 points on full drives...the offense/special teams pretty much handed them 14 points...that has been the case multiple times... think of the thousands of yards wasted this year on horrible special teams....or offensive turnovers. Of course a great defense makes up for this but our defense is closer to mediocre than being horrible.

The punting has been bad leading to poor field position in many cases. The D GAVE the offense excellent field position in the first half against Purdue (?) and we got what 10 points total out of it? Our redzone offense has been terrible. On top of that I think we started drives on Purdue's side of the field 5 times and only got those 10 points out of that field position. The whole team has areas they need to improve on.

So Nebraska ended up with a nice offensive game with just under 500 yards.

In the past 2 years they are 4-4 when gaining over 500 yards.
