There is a bigger picture than this. Not many teams can replace a John Wall with another John Wall every year. We have done better than most if not all programs in the country over a long history. We may not get a perfect roster every year. No one does but we come the closest. You and I want the same thing. A great team every year. We have to realize that it won't always happen. If we get Wheeler, he will be better than you think in my opinion. As fans, let's hope so.
That would be fine if we weren't coming off the worst record in UK history.Cal needs to fix this right now.

Yeah. Cmon @TheOtherGreatOne ... why you frontin like you have sOurCeS and iNfOrmaTioN?

Getting major coach X vibes. I know you’re not him but still..: the vibe is there.
Hickman wants to be closer to home. There are 5 division 1 teams in Washington. His former teammate plays at one of them. Unless he is lying to everyone, he is going to one of those 5 schools, so you figure it out. Heck he is a high school kid, a lot of times you can take what they say with a grain of salt. All I know is what my man told me. It may be right it may be wrong, but my man is connected, so I know more about this situtation than anyone else on this board. I am just passing along info that I have. When someone tells you people something, all you do is call them names. It is no wonder that most other fan bases hate Kentucky. It is not all Kentucky fans it just happens that the ones with the biggest mouth gets all Kentucky fans placed in this category. I have watched and listened to Kentucky basketball since 1964, and the last 2 or 3 years, a lot of the stupid **** that has been on this board has even turned me off. I am not nearly as into Kentucky Basketball as I always have been. Then to top that off Calipari letting those players disrespect this country was probably the biggest turn off of them all. I haven't watched a game since, and I won't as long as Calipari is the coach. I still keep up with them, but I won't watch. I have a guy that is connected with the Gonzaga program, so I know more about what is going on there than anyone on this board., but anyone with a different opinion than the big mouths you get called names and told you don't know anything. This board would be much better if the big mouths would just keep quiet and let the normal people talk basketball.

I may be alone here, but id like to see Justus steal Skyy also...I just think he's very overrated. Cal was really slow to offer..Justus had Skyy ready to commit, but Cal wasn't sure and took his time to give him an offer
KEYONTE GEORGE is the PG I want then add Sharpe as his mate..both 6'4- 6'5 and play above the rim. (Skyy not so much).....both big and athletic enough to run 3 guards and both can shoot it..
High school players are not recruited to be finished products. They are recruited for their athletic tools, measurables, and upside. Skyy Clark is a strong athlete with good size and SEC tools. He comes from a basketball family. He is not "overrated" at all. But like almost all young players, he will need development. He chose Kentucky because his family understands Cal's past record of developing young guards.

I don't think any UK fan including myself will argue that one. We had terrible season. It was a joke. We still have the most wins in history, 2nd most championships and are on top or near the top of basically every other category. We will not stay down long. When this offseason is over, we will have a high quality team. I know people are frustrated right now and rightfully so but it will not last.

What do you know that nobody else here knows? Your inside info is that he’ll maybe pick one of 5 schools in WA? That is not a scoop. I’m not trying to be a jerk man but you’re saying you know more than anyone here but you haven’t said one thing that is insider info or something we don’t already know. I wouldn’t even have commented if you hadn’t kept saying you know so much more than everyone else, only to say nothing. When your buddy trims his list to one you will have a scoop.

Recruiting season isn’t over
Yeah but just about all of the ones at the quality level we need are gone. May is a really bad time to have no PGs on the incoming roster. 90% of our issues this past season was over the complete breakdown at PG.

I don’t want any bum that’s too dumb to figure out this is the best place on the planet for college basketball. The type of personalities that come here are just not by nature going to love each other. If you wanna be the best and work in an atmosphere of total adulation, come here. If you don’t? I don’t care.

You will find out soon enough. Like I said, I don't know for sure, but it is in the works, but nothing is sure when it comes to recruiting a high school kid. After all the Cats thought they had him, and you see how that worked out, or didn't. When he signs with this school, it won't really mean anything until they get him in school and on the court. Who knows he may even change his mind again before school even starts again.
You know about as much as anyone else on the board. I'm hearing things about a certain player but you guys will know when he signs, just remember you heard it here first.

On a scale of 1 to a million, how much more bitter will KY fans be towards Gonzaga after one or two of their top recruits change course and decide to go to Zagville?

If a player followed Justus to Arizona state, it’s just more evidence for my post yesterday that 90% of the US population is just dumb. Guess what category the Hickman’s fall into if true........

Couple things stick out.

-How dumb can Hickman be to pick Justus over Cal if his goal is to make the nba.

-Cal getting played by freaking Joel Justus is yet another example that Cal isn’t the guy he used to be.

-Cal seems to have gotten lazy with recruiting. He used to go out and build the relationships with recruits himself. The guys now are pretty much solely dealing with assistants. Cal’s effort is about what you’d expect from someone who is content and is getting paid his millions regardless of the results he produces.
these kids are not riding on cals coattails hes riding there's they don't need uk to get to the nba.

And a dead man used to be alive. Try to stay in the present.. no one cares what happens in the past-- Chet Holmgren, Hunter Sallis, HIckman and Clark sure don't.

And a mid major program is still searching for 1 championship. At the end of the day, Kentucky is Kentucky and Gonzaga is well.....just another mod major with no real accomplishments. I would be willing to bet it won’t happen in your lifetime.

Why didn't we go after the coastal Carolina guy,the dayton kid or Justin Powell? Was Cal that out of touch with his recruit that it came as a surprise? Now we are stuck looking at a guy like Wheeler.
Cal likes athletes not basketball players
Wheeler and Fredrick will take us to the Final 4.
Unless sec changes rule, wheeler can't even play next season

Kneeling during the National Anthem disrespects this country, and I know history. If you can't stand for 2 minutes to respect this country you need to go somewhere else if you think it is so much better than it is here. This is supposed to be a basketball board, lets get back to discussing basketball. What do you say about that.

Wall was a once-a-decade ready talent.
You can't sign them every year if they don't exist every year.

It's tough, but if I were to rate (1-10 scale) our FR point guards I would go:
9.5 Wall
9.0 Knight
9.0 Fox
8 SGA
7.5 Ulis (he was a 9 as a Soph)
7.5 Harrison
7 Teague
6 Briscoe
6 Hagans
3.5 Askew
