was fun watching him do his thing out there... always kind of had a soft spot for Wyoming and Bohl being their coach made that even more fun

Wyoming always seemed to play with a wild hair when we have had to face them in the past.

Ditto..few things made me stop channel surfing more than a Mountain West game at Wyoming in the snow or so cold you could see breath.

Great man and coach.

We have a former coach available but I wouldn't wish that on Wyoming. Now, a further back former coach would be interesting.

He was a very successful coach there. In 2001-2002 the fanbase wanted him gone because of the CU game in 2001 and the PSU game in 2002 and Solich fired him and brought in Pelini. He was really a scapegoat for a talent deficit that started under Solich.
Bohl would have been a much better head coach than anyone we had between 2003 and 2022.

I see they already named their new coach, DC Jay Sawvel. I wonder how hard of a look they gave to Mike Grant.

thats getting a little carried away. he never won the conference and his best finish was 8 wins. ironically, he got absolutely spanked by a Mike Riley team that year.

I still don't agree that Bo was a great coach and his win total is inflated by having Callahan recruits and easier schedules. Bo's teams did not fare well against equal or better talent. I can't think of a single time they didn't get smashed in an important head-to-head game.
Keep in mind too that Bo's career completely fizzled out as a coach.

In 2011, Craig Bohl hired Chris Klieman as a defensive backs coach. He became the defensive coordinator the following season in 2012 until being promoted to NDSU head coach in 2014.

why do informational topics always seem to turn into personal pissing contests? what is it about society today that that happens? it's weird.

I mean, they beat ranked MSU teams a few times. They beat ranked UW, they beat back to back ranked Mizzo and Okie State. They beat OU, they Beat OSU, they beat Michigan.

I don't think he ever finished worse than tied for 2nd in the division.

He also won 9-10 games after all of BC's guys were gone. He recruited AA's and future NFL HOFer Lavonte Davide. AA Randy Gregory, multiple nfl draft picks.

You think Lavonte makes it to Canton? I hope you're right - he's had a remarkable career. I feel like he kind of flies under the radar, though.

Very polarizing figure, that is for sure. His brother was trouble.
But Bo was a competent coach. Best one between Solich and MR-May have been better than Solich as Solich had TO recruits for part of his time here. And, to be honest, though some of us may have confidence in him, the jury is out on MR.

2010 beat Number 7 Missouri 31-17
2011 beat Number 9 Mich St 24-3
There were also quite a few top 25 wins.

When was the last time we beat a ranked team? Mike Riley over Mich St?

He TOTALLY is under the radar. I think he will make it much later...kind of like Zach Thomas?

Me too. I probably have watched more Wyoming games than any other team besides Nebraska. The Bohl connection has made me a fan. He’s a Nebraska boy so I wonder if he will move back. Laramie is over 7000 feet in elevation with long winters. Not an ideal retirement location.
