Welcome back! Your dreams were your ticket out (Well, I never got a ticket in because there were no tickets at the gate, what's up with that?). Welcome back to the same old place you laughed about (all business in CPL Pick Em, no laughing here!)...But those dreams have remained and they've turned around (who will turn it around this week???). Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back! Here are the matchups for this week!
Crane Cougars at King Jaguars, Thursday 5:00 at Gately:
Trailers for sale or rent (I didn't see any at Gately last week), rooms to let 50 cents(tickets are more than 50 cents), no phone, no pool, no pets (imagine watching CPL football from a swimming pool)...I'm a man of means, by no means, KING of the Road! King with a big win (in a weird Thursday 5:00 start time).
Marshall Commandos at Noble Hansberry Bengals, Thursday 7:30 at Lane:
I'm the kind of man who likes to get away (I have to decide where to go this week), like to start dreaming about tomorrow (Thursday actually), never said that I love you, even though it's so.. where's that duffle bag of mine, it's time to GO!!! It's GO TIME with Thursday starts. Listen to the Marshall Tucker Band who heard it in a love song (hopefully a power ballad) and take the Commandos!
Noble Golder Panthers at Back of the Yards Bobcats, Friday 4:15 at BOTY:
Well I keep on thinking bout you, Sister Golder Hair surprise (upset special this week!), and I just can't live without you (CPL football), can't you see it in my eyes(hopefully the sun isn't in my eyes). I've been one poor correspondent (we need correspondents at all games), and I've been too hard to find (no, I'm front and center in the stands), but it doesn't mean you ain't been on my mind(CPL football is always on my mind)! Take Noble Golder.
Catalyst Maria Wolves at Schurz Bulldogs, Saturday 4:00 at Stagg:
Darken the city, night is the wire (7:15 slot would be better), steam in the subway, earth is afire (everyone's ready for hot CPL action)...In touch with the ground, I'm on the hunt, I'm after you (run the ball all day long!), smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd (probably not), and I'm hungry like the Wolf! Well, if the wolves are hungry, they'll probably want some Hot Dogs or Nachos before the game, and that can't be good for their performance in the game. Take the Bulldogs!
Noble Bulls Prep Bulls at Dyett Eagles, Saturday 10:00 at Winnemac:
Where do we go from here (Winnemac, duh!)? Now that all of the children are growing up (gotta re-tool after a senior heavy class). And how do we spend our lives, if there's no one to lend us a hand (come on refs, we need some calls!!!). I don't wanna live here no more (Gately has better food), I don't wanna stay (CPL football will always make me stay), ain't gonna spend the rest of my life, quietly fading away (good lord, we are in the red zone, throw the FADE!!!!). For those of you that don't know, that is Games People Play by The Alan Parsons Project. They also are responsible for the song Sirius; which is the introduction for the Chicago Bulls. Therefore, take the Bulls!
Game of the Week: Noble UIC Prep Firecats at Noble Gary Comer Catamounts, Saturday 10:00 at Gately
Here in my car, I feel safest of all. I can lock all my doors, it's the only way to live..in cars(why would I want to stay in my car, there's CPL action to watch). Here in my car, I can only receive (nah, run the ball please for heaven's sake), I can listen to you (the announcer is great), it keeps me stable for days in CARS (CPL football keeps me stable). That is the one hit by Gary Numan. I honestly hate the song, so I'll take Noble UIC Prep.
