It's not stopping recruiting and recruiting is picking up steam. Moss this weekend and another jumping in soon. Very close to having a really good recruiting class.

Its great to see another local has committed to play for MSU.
Many counties in MS have a 15-20% positivity rate and all but 2 counties in MS are rated as 'HIGH' for community transmission level right now.
I am not surprised recruiting hasnt stopped though. Programs still need to recruit for the future. Why would a program just stop recruiting due to covid?

I forgot, recruiting talk over here isn't as important as smoking a pork roast or retaliating against an angry ex-lover. My bad.
Coaches come and go, but State football recrootin always stays the same. The blueprint:
1) State of Mississippi hard and heavy, including JUCOs
2) Get the LSU, Alabama and Auburn leftovers in LA and AL
3) Go wherever else your coaching staff has good ties
#3 changes with the coach. Seems like King Jackie's staff knew a lot about GA, Croom was dumb and unsuccessfully went to FL and CA, Mullen was hated everywhere (but he almost got Cam I guess), Slophead brought in a few guys like Shrader and others that weren't the norm, and now Leach is bringing in some guys from TX and out west. I'd venture to say that the coach's ability to do #3 eventually determines if we can ever rise above that average of 6-7 wins with a peak of 10-2 or whatever.
If Mullen signs Cam, we might have won a title.
A little more WR talent here and there, we might beat Bama in 2014.
A WR miss from Starkville was the biggest takeaway from might have been in 2017, and 2018, had Mullen stayed.
We'll see if Leach still keeps the status quo or if he can take guys like Sawyer Robertson and Teddy Knox and go above and beyond. Those are guys we don't sign without him.

Agree with all this, although for this particular class, I will say that I’m not nearly as high on it as Cooter. I think it ends up 13th out of 14 SEC teams by the time it’s all said and done, and we’re currently in a dog fight to get just 3 of the top 10 kids from the state of MS.
Unless we’re going out of state to grab guys like Knox, Robertson, and Marks in each class, we simply can’t lose this many MS kids and expect to compete

Agree, can't go out of state at the expense of instate. And while I don't follow this stuff as closely as in the past, I've heard that this is a particularly deep class in MS so it may not matter that we lose a bunch, as long as we get our share. But it still is a little concerning to see the 4 stars go elsewhere.
