An old GF used to know him and was a family friend.
She always got mad at me when I made fun of him.

Whenever someone complains about the stuff that's on TV today and waxes nostalgic for the wholesome family entertainment of yesteryear, I think of the time when grown men in tights beat each other over the head with metal folding chairs and an elderly huckster sold amphetamines during intermission.
