His love affair with Evan Cooper was odd but TW needs him to help teach his D to the D line. Really surprised he ditched Rhule like that but Rhule might not be all that disappointed. Mr Roast wasn't exactly killing it in recruiting.
Beef prices for even basic hamburger have been insane for several months. I’m sure FSU grossly overpaid for pot roast.

When he was recruited, I really thought Bretz was gonna make it. I suspect that we've got a lot of DBs who are really pretty close in ability and Bretz was one of them. None of them standouts, but most of them could see the field and not embarrass themselves either. And only a handful of them can actually get to play.

by all means.. make it difficult
FYI, I was producing spreadsheets when you were shitting in your diaper.

I actually have a methodology in the way I do things.

Thanks to kong, I can go in and put this data in columns anytime I choose.

At present, I choose not to.

I have had him on my list to move on but all the numbnutz on this site keep pointing out he made the two deep on occasion, etc.
Yeah, but he never played, maybe a handful of snaps in meaningless games and was a 4th yr junior. Why keep someone like that, from a football standpoint?
He can actually get playing time at a low level school so why wouldn’t you enjoy that last year of eligibility by playing ?
I saw Appleget playing a bunch of snaps at Northern Illinois, Bretz could do similar
(Not just picking on Bretz, there’s a few others that need to move on also)

Not every guy on our roster is going to be starter quality. Roster size is 105 and you've only got 22 starters. I think Bretz would have provided good depth next year had he stayed. However, I think even though he did leave, it was based entirely on his own decision. I don't think he was forced out.

Must be fine with him being in the 105. And for some of these kids that might be the situation. Kids might be looking for a situation with more playing time and then after examining their choices, they decide to re-join the team.

Guess Neyor is opting for the transfer route now. Makes sense, since he won’t be drafted.

A bit surprising but there is another portal in spring
Yep. He might be one of those guys who has an agreement to finish the spring semester at Nebraska and then move along. Might have enough credits to graduate spring 25, so he possibly plays for a school next fall while obtaining his Masters.

So, all these guys that go in the portal and don't find a home are just *** out? Off scholarship and off NIL? Bye bye. Buy your own meals now?
If they do not find a football home I believe they join the rest of us not playing college football.

I haven’t heard anything about a plan to help players displaced by the move to 105. It is really a harsh reality/situation for players in this predicament. Very similar to the walkons that don’t find a home.

He is a Junior that has never got on the field on defense.

Today we had a freshman DB take 55 snaps.
Exactly. He had a scholarship spot as a backup and gave it up. He could have finished school as a special team player. Welcome to the FCS son ….if you can find a spot.

The no contact flag is interesting in Bretz' case. Usually this means you know where you are going and don't want other coaches to contact you. It is almost like he entered the portal, didn't get the news he wanted to hear, then decided to to withdraw from portal, and then got the deal he wanted and then re-enter the portal.

Safety is a position of concern for me. If you aren't a freshman I'm leery. So many db's and so few stepped up. I'm ready for some new blood.
Me too. Most likely to step up of the frosh from the little that I know would be Sanders, Tarver, Stewart, Jones, younger Buford.

These guys I am concerned may never contribute: Turner, Charles, Taylor, Guthrie, Gradney

Jury is out on Prescott, Benning, Barnes

Gotta take all of those visiting DBs that are in the portal, at least they have shown that they actually get on the field

I think when he re entered he was going to New Mexico with Dan Jackson . Then Dan took the South Dakota state job . Be interesting if he takes the tag off know .
