situation with the current roster and available scholarships? Is signing day for basketball the same as FB?

How many players are left for this fall? Are there players out there the new coach can bring in?

I think its a fluid situation with potential for more transfers and new signings.More sure to be known in the next two weeks as the coaching staff is announced.I think the Spring signing period is in April.

Yeah, definitely some "tweeners" in there... will be interested to see how Pikiell manages the rotation.

Based on your list:
PG - Sanders
PG/SG - Johnson
SG - Williams
SG/SF - Tripp, Bullock
SF/PF - Thiam, Laurent
PF - Freeman
C - Doorson, Diallow

will be interested to see who the 3 scholarships go out to and if any other openings occur.

A lot to get done, but I have the feeling Pikiell and Co. are up for the challenge and will keep working hard.

I saw that Jamel Allen out of Brentwood gave a verbal to Iona, I liked what I saw of him, around 6'7", was wondering if Pikiell might go after him.

With Williams the only Jr., we could definitely use a JUCO to help even out the classes. I wonder if there is a decent player still available. There's plenty of room for playing time in the front court with Foreman's departure.

3 commits - Thiam, Tripp & Bullock

3 open ships right now

Is it possible that we only have Bullock committed at this point and 5 Scholarships to dole out? Math wise would that be 2 recruits for Coach Hobbs, 2 for Coach Knight, and 1 for Coach Young? Or do we put Coach Pikiell in charge of locking up 1 5 star recruit?

His latest interview states he is looking at Jucos and 5th year players to complete the roster. To ensure that we have open spots in 2017, maybe Pikiell should take 2 fifth year players. Currently, the roster has no seniors for next year.

Beyond this year, Pikiell said he would target guys with "Upside", typically, that means "Under the Radar". Limited offer list, but, the staff sees something that can be molded into a good player after a few years.

UPSIDE is a four letter word on this board.

"Upside" requires two things... a) the player to stick around, b) the coach to be able to develop talent.

We haven't experienced either of those things for a bit. Until proven otherwise, I'm optimistic each new coach can manage both of those things... but we've been proven otherwise for a decade, so there's a certain amount of leeriness.

That said... I'm optimistic Pikiell can manage both of those things.
