Please stop with these nonsense assistant coaching stuff....
1. Rex has never coached...with eons of more proven assistants....why pick a guy who's never done it at UK?
2. Derek Anderson has never coached in college....he did a quick run at a high school...and didn't show much at that short stine.

So again, UK needs to hire the best assistant coaches with proven results. Like Jai Lucas....and many others if we need to put Barbee to pasture.

My problem with Rex has nothing to do with his political views. My problem with him is the way he took every opportunity he got to bad mouth the school, the state, and the fans. Even though he was a God when he played here. Then crawled back when he had no where else to go. I know Ritchie made terrible mistakes as well but at least he seems humbled by the ordeal and NEVER took shots at us any chance he got.

you are absolutely wrong about DA. He is perfect to help round out the staff. If you have 4 coaches you WANT a guy like who wants to there. Who is an alumn and has titles. Nba title. Played with lebron etc. You make room for DA. I don’t care what he did as an assistant anywhere else. He knows the game just has to learn how to coach team ball. He can work with individuals in the mean time. All great coaches have DA type assistants most of the time. They look to develop as many people as possible. Keeping fresh assistants especially former players with DAs playing resume. IMO cal is obligated to hire him in some capacity.

no, he lied and said “UK fans” spray painted the N word on his car in college. not to mention he probably cost UK the 2014 title by saying cal is leaving for the lakers. Whatever you say.
The players didn’t know he said it. Well documented. Good try. Good effort.

This^. Rex is all about himself. It has always been all about him. He disrespected UK for years when he didn’t need his alma mater. I’m also glad UK replaced him on the pregame radio broadcasts. Jack Givens does a 100% better job.

There's a lot of things I've never heard about Rex obviously.
On the pre-game shows, he seemed like he had access to the practices. I figured he was tight with Cal.

Would you like to see King Rex on the coaching staff?
Have we lost our mind? Are we this far too gone? If you think we are divided now as a fanbase bring this moron on board and we will not have a basketball program.

Agree. I still think DA would be a good hire here to do something with the program. Maybe not assistant coach, but something.

1. But do we not think Jai Lucas was the right hire this past season? Hiring him basically was how we landed Collins. Do we not believe going forward his youth and possible AAU connections will help us with high rated kids?
2. I was not happy with Bruiser Flint decision this past season from Cal....maybe that is the one we need re-think....but he just got hired last year.
