Careful folks, it's March Madness.....enjoy the moment and night.....RU is in.....a chance to dance and make some noise, 1 half and game at a time.

Respect all opponents, former Fordham guard, Nick Honor absolutely cooked a very young RU backcourt when our guys were frosh and sophs back in the 2018-19 season.......he is on Clemson and is very capable of big numbers....RU will need to be ready to play 40 minutes of good basketball.

But if you asked for a bracket, this is the one you want.....there is no doubt, if RU plays well, we will pose problems for opponents.

That about sums it up. Go RU, let us all enjoy the anticipation and the moment.

Clemson Tigers

Miami sent the Tigers home in the opening round of the ACC tournament on Wednesday, but the Tigers' résumé was already solid. Nonconference wins over Purdue, Maryland and Alabama became more valuable as the season evolved. The team's dream of a tournament run revolves around Aamir Simms (13.3 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 2.7 APG, 41% from the 3-point line), who has made 60.5% of his shots off pick-and-rolls, per Synergy Sports data.

The good thing about facing Honor again is they should have Rutgers attention.

The strange thing about sitting at Rose Hill Gym and watching Honor, he stood out immediately as the best player on the court that day.....and then you get the typical stuff of how can you lose to Fordham??

Then without realizing it, Honor was around 175 or so as a ranked player in his class....which is extremely high for a kid from Florida, who decided to go to Fordham....and I remember @RussWood telling us afterwards that he loved Honor as a competitive kid.....then he leaves after 1 solid season and down the drain goes any chance of Fordham getting anything done in the A-10 the next 2 years.

I don't think you can beat Alabama, Maryland and Purdue and be considered no good, but it's an ideal matchup for our guards who are now more game ready.

The only downside is the time of the game, me and some friends were hoping for an afternoon game so we can go watch it at a bar, really can't do that now with most places probably not staying open late, you don't want to risk the game going into OT past midnight.

One can never disrespect an opponent or assume anything. However given the level of competition RU has faced and beaten this year, Clemson does not pose a challenge that RU certainly has not faced before. Given the options that would be out there as a 9 or 10 seed, this really is one of the more favorable matchups instead of playing North Carolina or Missouri or Oklahoma. Clemson is a team with issues just like RU and they do have trouble putting the ball in the hoop at a great clip as well.

The 2nd round matchup gives RU an opportunity that is wonderful given the other 2 seeds...can you imagine playing Alabama or look at a 4 seed like Oklahoma State

Very similar to RU. Defense heavy with limited offense. They started off 9-1 and really fell off after that. Many people on Twitter and Reddit are shocked they got a 7 seed.
Those people on Reddit and Twitter don't really watch basketball. All they remember is the two week stretch where we dropped 4 of 5 coming out of our Covid pause. We were pretty damn solid the rest of the year with possibly the most impressive nonconference resume in the country. We're good enough to win against most anyone but we're also not talented enough to play poorly and still win. I didn't watch a ton of Rutgers basketball this year but I'd imagine you guys are very similar in that respect. Should be a good first round matchup.
