internal problems with this team. Appears no one seems to get along or like each other. I've said before that NIL would be the demise of college sports.

It cost UT a spot in football playoff. They had a massive locker room blow up and then got crushed by USCjr

It’s an interesting thought and valid question. For me though it’s a total lack of any form of leadership/accountability from the players AND a stunning display of mentally weakness that causes them to play scared and tight in any tough situation. It’s a brutally bad mix of personalities at the moment.

People have overblown NIL causing friction . For the most part we have recruited guys playing to get into the NBA how was that not causing friction ?

Everything looks bad when a team is performing bad . It’s more about coaching and the way this roster was built .

Look, we can point to all kinds of potential reasons, contributing factors and symptoms.

The simple fact is we have one of the allegedly best and certainly highest paid coaches on staff whose job is to FIGURE IT OUT AND ADAPT.

The reason is lack of coaching. That's the only reason and it has been all along.

Problems? It should unite these players. Even the scrubs are making $100,000. If they plan on continuing their basketball career there will be differences in how much they are making compared to others.
Personally, I'd like to see the NIL deals be based on a sliding scale. More like performance bonuses. The better you play the more you make. Better yet, have team incentives for winning.

But Cal says it’s a marathon, how long until he figures it out? We need to make a run to make the NIT

Whatever the problem is it's not NIL. Everyone is dealing with NIL and other teams are getting players that can play.

Hell, NIL helped us keep Oscar. Can you imagine how bad we would be without Oscar?

Why are we not getting players? I don't know the answer to why. I just know we don't have players.

I think it's more likely a few guys pushing too hard for the draft and they are trying to be stars when they are just role players. Together this is a good team, but there are no super stars. Guys are pushing to take that role, but none have the real talent to do it. Besides no plays are run or any help is given so that a single player can take that role. Toppin is trying, Oscar is trying, maybe even Wallace, but they can't succeed with the team's support and the system is not set up to do that.
What Calipari terms the "DDO" is simply your most talented ball handler creating a mismatch and getting to the lane for easy baskets. Other coaches have built their team around a star and run plays for that person while the other 4 chip in with scoring as they get easy opportunities. That offense is exactly what Bobby Knight won three championships with. I hate the man, but he was a really good coach and ran a successful system.
