Because the 3* players “MAY”be better than the 4* players.
Let me see if u get this.
Costello is a former HS 4 star with a .9735 rating.
Brice is a former HS 3 star with a .854 rating
Ramsey is a former HS 3 star with a .832 rating.
Currently on campus we have 2 4 stars with ratings above .92 and a 4 star with just around .90
All are dual threat, but much higher rated than our 2nd and 3rd potential transfer.
We just signed a high 3 star out of high school o who is in campus and in the S& C program right now. He is a Pro style.
If we don’t get Costello, why would we go after former 3 stars?
I may or may not have a shot at marrying Carrie Underwood, assuming I am better than her current husband.
I guess Hoby couldn’t seal the deal...

How does the starting QB not get accepted into grad school? I know Stanford is a great academic school, but I'm calling ******** on him not being accepted into their grad school until I see a solid source that says otherwise.
Thanks for the insight and welcome aboard.Something particularly important to understand about Leach is that he allows all of his QBs to compete for the main job. He's not a guy that just automatically takes the most senior or most experienced. Take last year for example. After Minshew's one year was over, Leach set out to find yet another transfer QB and landed Gage Gabrud, a guy who threw for over 11,000 yards and 80-something TDs for Eastern Washington. Everyone in Pullman thought "Well, guess Gabrud is our QB now". Yet once the season was about to start, it was Anthony Gordon, a guy who had thrown the ball just 5 times in the season prior, who was given the starting job by Leach. And you just need to look at the ludicrous record breaking passing stats that Gordon put up to see he made the right choice. Leach knows his QBs. No other Power 5 school made an offer for Anthony Gordon. Gardner Minshew was benched at ECU and was planning to just get his future coaching career started early at Alabama. The number of stars doesn't matter to Leach's system. What matters is that the QB can listen, do what is told, and execute the system that Leach operates with perfection.
Also, I'm new here. Clicked the "reply to thread" button, so I'm not sure why this one is filed as a reply to deadheaddawg's post above. Sorry for that, it's not meant to be a reply to any particular post. Just some thoughts as a Texas Tech fan turned Washington State fan now-turned Mississippi State fan as someone who just loves watching Mike Leach football.
