I watched the game on FS2 and it looked and sounded like one of our CB guys (#20) tried to punch a Baylor WR. He was called for roughness, but that is not enough. His coach should bench him even if the officials do not.

For doing what? I saw the same thing in an NFL game this weekend (Bills vs. Bucs) that resulted in a fumble, turnover, and game winning FG. It isn't a flag to "punch" the ball, but he got flagged because his punch made contact with the player's facemask.

He was trying to punch the ball out and instead made some contact on the facemask. Here's what I said on the Blue Lot yesterday about an article saying he was trying to punch the guy...

Didn't read the article but anyone that doesn't understand what he was doing is in one of two groups. You either don't understand the game, that would be last night's TV crew or you want clicks on your website and that would appear to be the case with this article.

It's amazing the things people will talk about that are so insignificant.

i saw the same thing watching the game....he was playing for the ball and caught the guy on the "chin" of his facemask...no intent, but i understand the penalty (and also glad it wasn't called worse on the field...i think that was kinda lucky)

He was going for the ball but hit him in the head first.

That explanation makes a lot of sense. The TV announcers made it sound bad, and the replay looked bad, but trying to punch the ball out and missing is not a big deal.
