This. He hasn't proven to be anything more than summer league fodder yet. If he doesn't transfer he will be here all four years with all of the holes in his game.

Do you remember Damon Santiago?

Nothing to speak of his first 3 years...then BANG.

Hoping Corey can catch the same lightening in a bottle for his JR. / SR. year....then we'll see about the NBA.

Think Corey has a WORLD of potential on both O / D. I hope he stays with the program...he gives us a chance to be recognized/ a chance to win.

Can't deny he is a phenominal athlete. His speed, quickness, and hops are quite rare. It's what he does with these talents that will define him. That's up to him to dedicate himself, and the coaching staff to point the way. If he does it, he could be one of the best Rutgers BB players ever.

The reason we need PG Mensah next year is to help set up Corey/ Nigel as opposed to these guys constantly trying to create. The PG will help with the wear and tear on Corey as seen in the Iowa game as he was fighting the pressure D. Someone who can help relieve some the ball handling duties will help this team alot.

Have played one home game since 12/15. @SHU, @Wisc, PSU, @MSU, @Iowa is a pretty tough stretch.

I get it and that is 95% of it.

He is 0-26 vs. top 150 schools as the starting PG. I know the supporting cast has been very bad, but he is 1/5 of the mess. He needs to make winning plays in the last 5 minutes of games. Although I am not a Jok fan by any stretch I'll bet he produces under 5 minutes, albeit in an easier role.

Corey is probably better suited to be a 2 guard. But we don't have a PG yet.

I am not sure of that...I just think he needs to keep improving as a point guard. In addition, 2s need to knock down open shots in their sleep. A 2 that isn't a perimeter threat is death to an offense.

He's either a very good, quick 1 with lots of talent and opportunities to improve (and with no one to dish to), or 2 who can't shoot. I know which I'd pick.

I definitely see Sanders as a point guard. The development there would be great for his overall game. He needs to learn how to play within the game, and use his strengths to have great outcomes. Right now, his strengths are great 60% of the time, and hurt him 40% of the time.

I back Sanders 100%. I think he will be a great player here. But he will need maturity, and that will come with our staff. And it is happening already.

He is a kid who has already battled life against the odds, and he is still winning.

I trust he continues to grow, and get better.

He needs 4 yrs college to improve and refine his game to make a living at it. In the meantime we have limited scoring options so I would give cory the green light to shoot

He needs teammates who can score.

The whole team has to learn how to score, and they are doing it, but obviously not close to enough. Sanders is not an exception.

Get in the right spots, have a few inches, let it fly. Get to the rim, draw fouls.Make 70% Easier to write this on the message than to see it happen.

This year is a transition year. As many and myself have noted, this is new basketball to the majority of the team, if not the whole team.

I didn't watch as many games last year as I am doing this year, but I felt like last year, he was all shooting and offense.

This year I feel like he is transitioning to a more complete player, playing tough defense and trying to facilitate more. As we all know though, we need more consistent outside shooting. That way, there is more room in the lane and he can more easily kick out or finish at the rim.
