LOL....a coach who has been to Omaha 5 times and to the Finals 4 of those times, and won it all 2 of those times. That's funny! What Vandy really needs to do IMO, is to raze that dump of a baseball stadium, go find some land on or near campus and build a dedicated new ballpark with plenty of room around it. They have the money. Now just go make it happen. The amount of highschool baseball talent in the metro Nashville area and in middle TN is almost enough to field a competitive SEC team every year. Then fill in a few portal needs nationally and he's got a national contender again. Kids do like exciting environments to play in and he & Vandy will never compete against us, LSU, Ole Miss, TAMU, for players unless they change their environment in the baseball program. If I was him, I'd be all up in the Vandy AD and President's office about getting him a new facility that rivals the top half of the SEC. Corbin is an elite coach, and his players have always loved and played hard for him. He just needs a new baseball culture that wants to be more like us. The SEC baseball arms race is on. We're about to be replaced by LSU and TAMU for attendance records with the amount of money both of those schools are getting ready to spend on their baseball stadium renovations. And after they do, you know Texas is not just going to sit around and let that happen. Takes some vision. If it weren't for Ron Polk's vision, we'd be more like Missouri's baseball program and facilities. He gone

Right. They’d have to go 15 miles away from campus to find enough land at an affordable price to even make that feasible. There is no land on or near campus.
Affordable is a relative term in Middle Tennessee these days.Right. They’d have to go 15 miles away from campus to find enough land at an affordable price to even make that feasible.
You’re right. Probably 30 miles.Affordable is a relative term in Middle Tennessee these days.
Yeah, there's some, but they may have to buy up some of it at a pretty price and then level what's on it. Down south on campus near Natchez Trace and Jess Neely, and could possibly work a deal with Centennial Park across W. End Ave. There are some old campus bldgs. much like Dorman Hall was for us that could be torn down and repurposed. Have to remember, Vandy has a ton of endowment and dedicated athletic resources that can be used that would triple or quadruple what we have available at MSU. ie.....they have no lack of money to do whatever they want as long as Corbin can pressure the AD and President into following his vision. The football and basketball programs have long wanted Vandy's baseball area for their parking and other amenities. Repurposing that area would help that situation tremendously. There is no land on or near campus.
Even if any of this were feasible is it worth doing for a non-revenue sport at Vandy like baseball? I understand, much like us, it's the one sport Vandy has been and can consistently be successful in , that'd be a lot of money for a non money making sport.Yeah, there's some, but they may have to buy up some of it at a pretty price and then level what's on it. Their park is literally in the middle of a major renovation project. They certainly aren't about to scrap it and start over miles and miles from campus.LOL....a coach who has been to Omaha 5 times and to the Finals 4 of those times, and won it all 2 of those times.
