PepI will be fine and should see no fewer minutes. The goals will come, this is not a new situation. He brings a fresh speed that gives opponents fits as the game goes on.
True. Look at Nunez last night for Uruguay. That guy seem to hit a post or miss a sitter once a match, but he is always in position to score and creates powerful strikes in a blink of an eye. The problem for Pepi is Wright in particular is in top form and scoring goals as was Sargent, but he is still coming back from an injury. They say he is ok to play, but his last interview about it just finally coming healthy leads me to believe Sargent is the last option there. It won't shock me for one second if Wright gets those minutes next match or GB gives Pepi a chance to redeem himself. This COPA is really big for the guys up front who want to be on the pitch in 2026....produce or next man up.

I felt bad for Chile last night. They played their hearts out against Argentina, and were very close to pulling off a nil-nil tie. Chile's GK was amazing. In the 88th minute, Argentina finally broke through:

There was a very long VAR review of the goal, and my take from live action was that the Argentina player was offsides. Below is the VAR lines for offsides, so the goal stood:

The ref is not having his best game.

This should have been a card. The defender was beaten and then fouled the USA attacker after he was past him.

this is a tough one to tell from the video they've shown. I could see it called a foul, and also see it not called.

The challenge on Turner was violent. Professional fouls on Balogun with nothing given. Don’t look for the US to get many calls.

Panama was awarded a PK (the ref was shielded, and you don't make calls when shielded), but after VAR check it was waved off (correctly).

Panamas scores in the 83rd minute. The USA couldn't clear, and eventually got burnt.

2-1, Panama

Dumb play by Panama results in a red card for Panama. So Panama will also play with 10 players for the last few minutes of the game, pus 4 minutes of stoppage time.
