as a few of us have said all along, congress must step in or college athletics as we know them, with all their benefits to student-athletes and the country as a whole, intercollegiate athletics will dissolve. i'm pleased to see even some of the most conservative agree.

I thought everything that the US government touches turns to garbage. No thanks I guess?

zero incoming 4* transfers, ranked 16 spots below Kansas.

very impressive!
kansas has way more portal incoming than k-state which is well positioned to move forward with existing talent including avery johnson and dylan edwards plus incoming freshmen like linkon cure. there are several high school 4* recruits in k-state's portal class.

that of course is hyperbole even though there is a lot of it that needs to go to the dump.

Unfortunately, an NU vs isu, ku or kstate doesn't push the media needle $$. Missouri I would assume would be most desired old conference foe from that standpoint

missouri split a series with k-state. the tigers are playing ku this fall. and i suspect a top 25 match between N and k-state would move the needle over N versus akron or perhaps even houston christian for that matter.

it's interesting, will the fat and happy 5 star player guarantee victory over the lean and hungry 4 star player? and at what price?

Why did big 12 (16) decide to play 10 conference games?? b1g has 9 and $ec has 8. I don't know what the perfect number is but as conferences get bigger one could argue play only conference games or 1 or 2 non conference games. 8 seems way too low

k-state's game v. uofa is not a conference game. it was scheduled before the 4-corner schools moved to the b12 and rather than cancel it they are playing arizona as an ooc.

Richly ironic that "conservatives" want government intervention and restrictions on a free market.

markets work best when properly regulated by a wise government. otherwise, we evolve into the chaos of 19th century-like robber barons which teddy roosevelt first addressed, a conservative republican by the way. sec and b10 commissioners are acting outside the public interest much like the carnegie, morgan, vanderbilt trusts of that day. and i might add they are doing it in a similar brazen way.

Anyone that thinks college sports are similar to "big business" after the industrial revolution is insane.

There is nothing to "fix" in college sports, it got fixed when students got freedom of movement like everyone else already had.

Trust me, in 10 years, all the dongs that "hate college sports now" will totally forget why and they will love it.

I think much of what has already changed there is no turning back. It’s harmful to programs like k state and thus why this thread was created. No one in the P2 wants it’s to roll back like it was.

It’s hilarious that you constantly blubber like a toddler about the evil Big Ten and SEC commissioners, when Little Brett Yormark is out there trying to do the exact same thing - he just isn’t any good at it.

How is his “UConn to the Big 12” rumor mongering going? Or the inevitable move by Florida State and Clemson to the Big 12? You were happy to blow those horns until it became clear they weren’t going to happen.

What a hypocritical, selectively outraged gasbag.

There are MAYBE 30 schools that are legit now with 6-10 sort of "maybe if everything goes right" schools.

But those other schools they are just farm schools now.

When debating an issue with someone, I always find my argument becomes so much more effective when I tell the person who has a different opinion he is "insane".

I think Congress should pass a bill prohibiting major conferences from hiring undertalented concert promoters as commissioners. Then maybe I wouldn’t have to subscribe to ESPN+ to watch Big 12 basketball.

This is not a debate though. CFB is better now. Period. Better for the players. Better for the fans. Better.

I would not have watched a lame *** Indiana vs ND "bowl game" this season. But I was ******* happy to watch Indiana get beat up by ND in a playoff game!

Exactly and those other 100ish farm
Schools supporters will make posts about saving college athletics. They need to accept the new reality.

Very few true conservatives left. Just a bunch of people who spread hate but spend money like liberals. Watch this play out. If this administration was even one tiny bit serious about reducing spending they wouldn't let the debt ceiling be used against them. But it looks like they already are. Because they aren't fiscally conservative.

the sec and b10 are openly colluding to fix a multi billion dollar industry with the support of media powers espn and fox. insane indeed. it's hard to imagine this is happening in today's world.

this will ultimately result in government action. legislators from north carolina and florida to oregon and washington are not going to allow their university sports to fail. i would imagine trump will weigh in at some point.

There there. The P2 is almost here. Don't worry though. I'm sure that K-State can win the G6 championship! You can start making the banners now!
