Grats to the Hawks.....Castro, DeJean, Higgings and Nwankpa and the rest of the D and the O too as well. QUESTION....the Wisc rb fumbled the ball, was not down yet, Iowa recovered....so why in the hell was it given back to Wisc? I don't care if he got past the 1st down marker, fumbled while not down yet!! WTF....I don't get it. Can someone explain that to me....thanks in advance....

Wisconsin actually recovered the ball. The ruling on the field was that the ball didn’t advance across the first down marker until after the fumble, which by rule would be a turnover. Replay showed the ball didn’t come out until he was past the first down marker.

Wisconsin recovered that fumble. This ismy understanding of what the refs ruled Rule state on 4th down a fumble recovery cannot be past the line where the fumble occured. The appeal from Wisconsin established the fumble occured past the first down line. Therefore, first down, Wisconsin. Fortunately they fumbled again next play.

thanks Terrykohawk....I have never heard or seen that before. I thought Iowa recovered the ball. Oh well...
