Yep. As I said in their game thread, I grew up in South Jersey, 15 minutes from Center City, and I always liked Temple football and hoops, especially back in the 70s when the Big Five was still a big deal in the Philly area. Happy for a fan base which is even longer suffering than ours. I suspect even kbee is smiling a little.

I just watched on ESPN as the commentator said that the OL problems, as well as others, existed then. You think, he went on, that these would get fixed in the off season. But they haven't. He finished with these are problems that the coaching staff has to get these fixed.

I just loved how he called out the coaches on that.

The stadium was quite a sight. Nearly packed, but at the end if was as if you eliminated everyone who was wearing white. Reduced the crowd by over half.

OUTSTANDING! Gosh that was a fun watch.

team with a top 15 defense returning all the starters..wow. They sure played the part.

One kid popped on the screen ( ioannuzzi?) from Ringoes, NJ..I almost fell out of my chair. Where did he go to school? I don't recall him at Hunterdon Central or my Middle School.

I know it's hard to believe, but I found myself rooting for Temple in this game. And the look on the PSU fans in the stands at the Linc as the game was being decided. Priceless.
BTW, my buds who bet on these games won some nice dinero taking Temple and the points.

It was even more fun in person, watching them realize it was inevitable.

Congrats to Temple and its fans.

I got to watch most of the second half and thoroughly enjoyed the beat down of PSU. The shots of Franklin were priceless as the announcers skewered him in so many ways, making it look as though Hackenburg's talents were being wasted by the coach's insistence that the "system" mattered most and the players had to conform to the system. They were talking about Hack as though he is a sure goner in the next draft though still having more eligibility after this year.

Franklin aside, it was a great day to be a Temple fan. Rutgers fans can relate to the long spells of futility that they have had to endure. So hopefully they are enjoying a great victory and will go out and support their team to a level never previously seen there.

Congrats !
They did it with key players from NewJersey... QB, stud RB, 2 outstanding LBs...Glad to see State Penn fall and Jersey kids help make it happen.

Temple did it without Webb on their roster.
Think he had to go back to JUCO

It's nice that they beat the Nits, but won't be rooting for them to win most games they play this year.
But hope they beat the imitation Irish
The Nits I want to lose every game they play

Love the support. Its kinda split. Half sort of cheer for Temple while all of you hate psu.

BTW, notice the lower case psu. That's what 10 sacks will do to you...

Isn't it nice to have a thread we all can agree on?

Awesome outing. Ten sacks. And a decent amount of cherry in the stands, when I feared it would look more blue. (Could have been the camera angles, but still ...)

Never had anything against Temple, just really doubted their long-term prospects for football. Still do, but I hope they do well.

You don't want 2* recruits. We'll just develop them into NFL players, which Matt is. http://sports.yahoo.com/temple/football/recruiting/player-Matt-Ioannidis-117829

Thanks and go Owls.
