Not much I can say other than congratulations. I’m jealous, mostly. But in a weird way I’m proud for a lot of y’all. I was shocked to find myself indifferent while watching Game 3. I’ve never been indifferent about an MSU game in my life. And it wasn’t because of how Vandy got there, or the Whistler. It was because I know how much your fan base has invested in baseball, financially and emotionally. You deserved it, regardless of whether or not I wanted it to happen.

You certainly don’t need me to tell you to enjoy it, but for those of you who have been friendly and funny and engaged with me.. congrats! To the rest of you.. congrats, as well!

Now, if you just wouldn’t do it again for 100 years or so, we might have 2-3 trips to Omaha and a crack at tying it up.

I'm going to a dear friend's 4th party in Oxford today. These folks are Ole Miss to the bone. He was actually an in-house counsel to the university through the whole freeze/Tunsil cluster schtup.

I'll bet they cannot WAIT to see my *** coming this pm. I'm not going to rub it in. I'm just going to wear my State gear and watch them twist.

Funny enough, I am usually indifferent regarding Ole Miss football (traditionally 'your' sport, i.e. more investment, more success when it matters, etc.). Maybe it's because I have accepted, especially after 2014, that neither program is going away and weirdly success is good for both. So I guess what I'm saying is that I know what you mean.

I look at it differently in baseball, which is 'our' sport. I HATE Ole Miss baseball. So, I would imagine you hate MSU football a good bit more than you hate MSU baseball. It's like there definitely is a little insecurity in MSU football and Ole Miss baseball, and insecurity is NOT attractive, thus people hate it.

He was in-house counsel during the Freeze/Tunsil schtup? As poorly as that turned out for OM are you sure he wasn't working on the inside for State?

Probably a lot of truth in that. I definitely hate MSU football more than MSU baseball. Never really thought of it before, but now that you’ve mentioned it, I do. I’m not insecure about MSU baseball, because I’ve never doubted that you had to better program. Which is your point, I guess. Even the years that y’all were down, and we were good, it never felt like some seismic shift. Just a thing that was happening that wouldn’t last. Weirdly, if we’d had more postseason success in baseball, I’d probably have hated y’all winning it a lot more. Because it would feel like y’all were beating us to something. Kinda how Russia must’ve felt when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. But, with Bianco here, instead of Russia we are more like France. Kinda like “ehh that’s cool.. wish we could’ve done it, but that ain’t going to happen, so good for them.”
