Burns takes it 28-17. Km dominated both sides of the ball in the 1st Qtr but The Dogs got back in it in the 2nd. Losing both the starting QB and RB was tough for KM and the Dogs took advantage of some big turnovers including a pick 6.
Congrats. Coaching sure has changed things in Lawndale. Dogs might bite those ponies this year.
Burns should be favored in every game from here on out. No more pulling the underdog role.
What a great game for Burns. Awesome atmosphere. If you would have told me would win without Hill I would have called you stupid. Everyone stepped up after a rough 1st quarter. I really hate the QB and RB went down. I don't know what it is about KM that people get hurt a lot. It was 17-14 at half with a full squad. But you could tell during the 2nd half, the KM offense just wasn't clicking. Our offense looked a lot better too. A couple long TD throws again, that always helps. I don't know how much longer we can keep our poor kickoff team. They had several long run backs. But overall this was the best overall game we've played all year. It's good to see the excitement back. I hope the KM injuries weren't serious and good luck to them the rest of the way.
Awesome win for the Dogs. 5-0. What a turnaround from the last two years. Our kids and coaches are working hard and it shows. Way to get it done team!
Back in the 80s john conley had a song called rose colored glasses . ...some said i was wearing them but i knew these Dogs could be special. How about 7-0 heading to shelby but we must take care of east squared first .
Congrats Bulldogs,my chargers are winning but still needs improvement on offense but looking better,,,but congrats on the big win....I hope we can give you a good game down the road...
Your right Burns will not be favored in the Crest game.But a great chance to go 10 and 1 or maybe 9 and 2.Shelby must play better than last night or will be in trouble.
Agree Shs, last night we were not focused.
Even though we scored 48, the offensive didnt play well,
1st string D did up until half, Chase had 35 yrds passing -5 rushing. And ended up with 72 total for game.
Coach Devine, and BJ Hopper will have Burns so fired up to play us, we best be ready.
On another note, glad to see coach Causby out last nite after having kidney removed.

Shelby was looking ahead to Kings Mountain, but you have to give Chase some credit. Lack of depth hurts them, but they had some really good athletes. Their skill position players are just as fast as anyone in the conference, and that one kid on the D Line is quite a player, he should be a college prospect.
Congrats to Burns on the victory and becoming 5-0. That was an impressive win, and you guys are to be respected.
Thanks SL. This group of seniors has faced so much adversity and had never tasted the thrill of victory over a county rival. It was sweet but its just one game and alot of football left . KM is a great team....big and strong up fromt . If anyone from km has an injury update on burns would love to hear how hes doing.

Looked like KM Qb was on cruches after game last nite,looked like knee wrapped up.

Yea the injury happened right in front of me. It looked bad man ...real bad . FFN showed him in a full leg brace .
Great game, very good atmosphere. First I hope the KM QB is ok, it looked significant. The first quarter was all KM as expected for a team like that and playing in their house. Burns was able to calm down and get back onto the game before half and making some defensive plays. As you guys have stated, the KM offense sputtered in the 2nd half without the starting qb, although I really liked what I saw out of that sophomore! He will have his time soon! Burns offense got rolling w Burris and then the passing game. I want to point out a few plays I think made a difference for Burns in the 2nd quarter. The first was the late hit on #12 in the 2nd quarter which he took a shot n got right back up, the 2nd was the run play the same kid a play or twould later and the qb lowered the helmet n hit the truck stick on a kid, that energized the team! He showed some toughness and the team rallied. Lastly and obviously the KM qb going down was a game changer, I won't say we wouldn't have won but it definitely hurt KMs chances. Great Game Burns! Hope KM can rebound and make a run.
Obviously, haven't watched the game, and I heard that he really struggled some, but the sophomore qb, Wade, will be special for KM. He's fast and very athletic, he can throw. Hopefully, the injury w/ the Burns kid isn't as significant as feared, but once Wade get some significant reps at qb and his feet underneath him, KM will again be a dangerous team.
Boys im here to tell ya 12 is bruised from top to bottom....he has a bruise of an imprint of a face mask on his neck ....but no injuries just typical of playing a tough physical ball club like km. Agree with rev its hard to figure in injuries . With hill healthy and burris being on d line full time and km qb not hurt who knows the outcome. Best of luck to km. I like how the jv qb throws the ball for km so maybe he gets some reps this week.
With that big physical line on both sides i think km is in every game they play .
Quick shout out to our DB's too. They made several great plays throughout the game. Very impressive.
Have to give Coach Devine and this group of Bulldogs credit. They have improved each week and continue to open eyes. 5-0 is for real. What a turnaround from the last 2 seasons. Good luck the rest of the way and hopefully Burns will be undefeated when they meet Crest. Will be a HUGE crowd.
I was afraid of that, this is so disappointing. It's been a hard year for quarterbacks. Monroe, in 2A, lost their star quarterback to the same injury.
If im not mistaken burns hurt his knee in jv ball and missed alot of time thus the big brace. This injury was on the other knee.
keep it up Burns and we just might schedule you guys again!

Once Freedom makes it past the second round give any Cleveland county school a call. This county has champions. Every school has at least been to the state championship at least once.
