Reading all of these posts, I'm reminded of what it used to feel like when we'd enter a season being nationally ranked and actually relevant. It's been a while. I'm excited to feel that way again in about 5 weeks!
I don't think there are any teams on our schedule except for Ohio State that are out of reach to us at this point. In my opinion:
South Alabama - Tune up game. 100% win.
Colorado - ***-whipping time. Potentially a tough one, but we HAVE to win. 75% win
Northern Illinois - Another team to beat up on and let the B team get some minutes on in the 4th. 90% win
Illinois - Could be a fun shoot-out, could be silly. Illinois sucks. 90% win
Ohio State - They will be more vulnerable than at any time since we beat them in 2011 or 2012, but they are still absolutely loaded with skill. 25% win
Northwestern - Their D will be pretty good. Their O will not. 75% win
Minnesota - I don't care what people are predicting, Minnesota is not a good enough team to hang with us. 75% win
Indiana - Another game that could be a fun shoot-out. 90% win
Wisconsin - Like Ohio State, they are more vulnerable this year than they usually are. This one we win. 75% win
Maryland - Not a chance. 90% win.
Iowa - This year we beat them in a statement win at home. 90% win
There you have it. 11-1 is totally something we could do this year.
Anything over 7 wins should give cause for celebration in Lincoln. Yes improvements is on the horizon but you completely overlook the rest of the conference getting better, filling recruiting needs, improving facilities and coaching getting better. The rest of the B1G isn’t standing still because Nebraska thinks they are improving.

Minnesota hung around with Ohio state until 3rd quarter. Not to mention you are coming into Minnesota & Minnesota d under new coordinator played shut down for last 10 Quarters. But yeah .Minnesota also has two of the nation's Top WR's
Of what’s coming. Don’t feel bad, you’re not the only one.Of what?

Ok. I just love it when these dimwits come over here and tell us what our expectations should be.Anything over 7 wins should give cause for celebration in Lincoln. Of what?
Yup, he had one more season of winning 9 games at Nebraska then the wheels were going to fall off hard.Pelini was headed in that direction when he was fired. His recruiting was abysmal. Not saying that lack of talent on the team was the only reason for Riley's losing records, but Pelini's terrible recruiting, especially in his last few years, coupled with the things he told the team when he left, definitely helped pave the way.
When that's the only accomplishment Bo had, it's trash for a program like Nebraska. Not sure why people try to make that out to be a great thing? If a conference championship or two were tied to that then yes, you'd have a point. But he didn't and as already stated the program was trending down the longer Bo stayed, not up.Headed that direction based on what? Your dream bubble fantasy?
Bo was our HC for seven years and each year he won 9 or 10 games. Of course, that's zero losing seasons that Smiling Mike was so greatly skilled at.

Yep and Minnesota also got completely BLOWN OUT by the Huskers too. 53 to 28...So there’s that as well.
And dont forget destroyed the mighty yellow jackets in the bowl game. They fired thier defensive coordinator, haven’t you heard?

He's used to expectations for Iowa. 7-5 is about average for them. Now I don't know if you're an Iowa fan, but you definately sound like an Iowa fan.
Our expectations are championship level football every year.
So if you ever get it in your mind to mosey on over and tell us what to expect in the coming footbal season regarding the Cornhuskers, just remember the answer is Championship.
Games are played on the field over a tough 12 week stretch. Not played on paper or in the mind. He's used to expectations for Iowa. 7-5 is about average for them.
Bo was great at just getting by. Especially his last few years. He was great at beating the crappy teams not great at beating teams with a pulse. He was never a coach who would take us to winning any kind of championships. His record vs ranked teams while here.
Vs Top 5 teams
0-3
Vs Top 10 Teams
2-8
Vs Top 25 team
8-17 ( 5 of these wins were vs teams ranked 20-25)
So his record vs teams ranked 1-19 was 3-14
As a comparison over that same time frame our buddy to the East (Ferentz) record
Vs Top 5 teams
3-1
Vs Top 10 Teams
4-4
Vs Top 25
8-12
Vs Top 19
6-9
I think we all agree that Ferentz is an ok coach but not a coach who can take a team to that championship level. Bo couldn't even match him.
And Bo’s Huskers was one of the few teams to beat Dabo Swinney and Clemson right when they started getting hot (one of the few, big quaility wins he had). Bro you know me, I’m no Bo Pelini fan but I’ll also give credit where is due.
Then you’re experienced a lot of disappointment. Now I don't know if you're an Iowa fan, but you definately sound like an Iowa fan.

Learn how to spell if you're gonna come here and drop weak *** burns. Then you’re experienced a lot of disappointment.

I'll take what SF did, something NO other coach has done, from 0-12 to 13-0.When that's the only accomplishment Bo had, it's trash for a program like Nebraska. Now Que "only a handful of other coaches ever accomplished that" or "well it's better than what MR ever did".
We never ever ever ever should have a walkon qb as 2nd string, especially a running qb.“I think we all agree that Ferentz is an ok coach but not a coach who can take a team to that championship level. Bo couldn't even match him.” And on the flip side of that, Bo Pelini was 3-1 against Iowa, with the one and only lose coming to Ferentz and Iowa was when Tommy Armstrong got hurt and didn’t play the game and we had our WALK ON QB playing. Bo did NOT do well against the BIG boy teams but he owned Iowa and Ferentz. And Bo’s Huskers was one of the few teams to beat Dabo Swinney and Clemson right when they started getting hot (one of the few, big quaility wins he had). Clemson was decent then but nothing special. I believe that was both Dabo and Pelinis first season. Hell, it wasn’t too long ago that WVU dropped 70 on them in a bowl game. Clemson has been a much different animal since then.
