The Nebraska high school realignment changes that would seem to take effect today. These are the changes that I am aware of, if you know of others please post in this thread
- Torrington (Wyoming) will join the Western Conference, giving that league six members
- Fremont is leaving the Heartland Athletic Conference to join the Metro Conference, while Elkhorn North is leaving the Eastern Midlands Conference to also join the Metro Conference, giving the Metro 22 member schools
- Elkhorn North (Metro), Lincoln Northwest (HAC) and Lincoln Standing Bear (HAC) are leaving the Eastern Midlands Conference, with the EMC now falling to 8 members
- With the departure of Fremont and the additions of Lincoln Northwest and Lincoln Standing Bear, the Heartland Athletic Conference will now have 12 members
- Freeman intends to leave the East Central Nebraska Conference for the Southern Nebraska Conference in the 2027-28 school year
