Wow! I really thought the Big12 was set up well regarding match ups. Boy was I wrong!!!

1-5 is embarrassing nationally. This is part of the reason why no one nationally respects the Big12. In a year when the other P5 Conferences were winning some and losing some the Big12 gets embarrassed.

Thoughts on what’s next for the Big12? Is the Conference in danger of being poached again if a GOR contract isn’t put in place over the next 3 years? The reality is only Texas and Oklahoma have value that another conference would be interested in. Hopefully Texas or Oklahoma won’t jump ship.

True that. The B12's bowl tie-ins aren't with MAC schools.

However, if you look closely enough, the team with the better record going into the bowl game usually won, with a couple of exceptions like Texass of course. As is to be expected. Add to that, with the exception of the New Year's bowls, nobody today cares what happened in them (with the possible exception of our obsessed resident Spitt fan trying to troll those silly enough to go along with it).

He's obsessed with lots of things - the B12, WVU, this message board, and now me. Begging for me to respond to him in multiple threads. Over 7,000 posts on this board, most in this year alone.

I know he's a loser in life. Over 50 years old and his day revolves around the comings and goings on this site. Stays up until 3 AM posting on this board day after day. Sad when you think about it.

Greg I don't mind the rivalry stuff I had a brother that went to Pitt. The Wvu/Pitt rivalry goes back 70 years in my family. I know the Big 12 flunking out in bowls this season is just part of the rivalry but you've started too many threads about it. Its time to give it a rest. At the end of the day whether the big 12 or Acc champ wins it doesn't really change the fact that Pitt will always be Pitt and Wvu will always be Wvu. We don't live vicariously through other teams. At least rational people don't. If Pitt or Wvu is ever going to experience greatness again both programs have to achieve it themselves. Clemson and Oklahoma isn't going to do it for us.

Big 12 is gonna have to learn that defense is actually an important part of being a good football team. Outside of the Big 12, a lot of teams play defense and thats why they expose the B12 teams as bad as they do.

WVU is going to get back to that with Koenning building and calling the D, and its going to catch a lot of Bg12 teams by surprise imo. I think Neal Brown is going to build this program up more in the way Clemson has. Dabo realized the importance of D, and they went from looking more like a Bg12 team when they lost to us in the BCS bowl, to a Championship team. Thats the difference. Their offense didnt change much, but the defense did in a big way and that is how they can beat teams like Alabama and OSU. The formula for success, imo.
