With Gronk being taken out on a helmet to helmet hit, then the player that hit him should go out as well, even if there was no flag thrown. It always seems that the offensive player leaves because the hit is more damaging. I don't know if it's about the physics of the hit being delivered rather than received or what, but both should have to sit until the injured player can return.

The NFL should simply implement a targeting rule, as the NCAA has done.
Targeting rule is far from perfect. There's questionable ones where players are kicked out. But where there's blatant ones like the one on Gronk, it's BS and the defender should've been ejected.
No it's not football. Not anymore. It was a penalty. In college football that would've been targeting. 100%.
The guy had a very large target to hit. Why aim for the head if you don't have to.
yes, they should definitely find more reasons to go to replays and delay the game as much as possible............
maybe they can attach some sort of stick or fabric (or something like that) each player's jersey or pants... and if a player on the defending team un-ties that fabric... the offensive player is called "down"............. this whole tackling things seems unnecessary......

After what Gronk pulled on Tredavious White earlier this season that was almost poetic justice for me. It would have been complete if the Jags could have finished.
He didn't launch and he hit him from the side with the side of his head. He wasn't targeting the head at all. He led with his shoulder, and their heads hit. It wasn't an awful call, but it was a tough one for Church.
Yes, he would have been tossed from a college game but I didn't see him launch or see any intent to hit him at the helmet. Sometimes a play is just a play and **** happens.
