Crest should have no problem with the spiders.
Crest broke their entire program 10 years ago. Enough time has passed to do it again.
As a Concord alumni I saw them play a few weeks ago and this game will get ugly fast. Crest will have no issues at all. Best thing about Concord is there kicker. He is always in fg range lol
Crest as many as they want. Crest has the ingredients to win it all this year.
Remember some years ago Crest went to Concord and played on a muddy field and took Concord apart..I think Tre Harbison had a 95+ yard td in that game
That might have been the year of 2015 4th rd where Crest beat them 44-6.
Worse field I have ever seen, Concord ran that mouth all week , didn’t end well for them
They have a turf field now and it’s probably the worst looking turf field I’ve ever seen.
Its sad that Concord is the not the Concord from years back as we know it when them and AL Brown would battle it out in some of the biggest crowds. The rivalry game between the two is not the same anymore. Now the power has shifted to JM Robinson who could make a deep run in the playoffs and meet up with Crest.

I just talked an A L Brown guy about this yesterday. He said Concord athletics was killed by all the new schools in the county that pulled from traditional Concord areas. Said it wasnt even fun to go to the game because its not even competitive. Might as well keep the bell at K-town even when its at Concord, because they will never get it back.
So true! Even when we play at KonKord they can't fill 1/2 of their stadium.... In fact I bet we've had more fan at their place than they have over the past 10 years... I remember last year it felt like a home game.. Kannapolis has had issues with low attendance especially before Hardin was named the head coach but it seems to me there has been a pretty good uptick in attendance especially this year with having a pretty good season!
I remember that game. Concord came out hype and amped up like they were going to be the buzz saw
I was wondering what happened to both of them. Al Brown and Concord were always in the thick of the title runs back in the day
I believe Coach Hardin at Brown is turning the program around to where it used to be. It’s just going to take a little time. The last coach there left it in a mess. Hardin is working with the middle school where the last coach wasn’t.
Just look at the JV team... The 3 years before Hardin came to town we had won 7 games combined. The 3 years he has been here they have won 27 games tremendous improvements
How is Concord football these days? Back when I was in school in the 80s Forest Hills was in the same conference with Concord. We had some great games back then. I was hoping with the realignment we'd be in the same conference again but that didn't happen.
This + the hire of the guy after Padgett killed the program and the leadership has no desire for it to ever return. In the school system and the school.
Outside of Cleveland County stadiums I think I have watched more playoff games at AL Brown. I’ve watched Burns and KM in amazing games there. My freshman year we lost 17-16 when our kicker slipped in the mud on XP. Nick Maddox was the man back then.
That Concord Team was Loaded in 15! People forget about nasirildeen, who was the Best High School Safety I’ve ever seen in 30 some years!
All you had to do was look across the sidelines. We had Roseboro at Safety that year. You won't find a better defense than we had that year. You could count on 1 hand the TD's the starters gave up that season.
You have to go back 20 years or so when Dee Bost and Lance Lewis were the Spiders main players.
Concord in early 2010’s till about 2015 was the best run of football in their history.
We don’t have to worry about other schools in Cleveland County unless one of these privates start football.
All they could do is combine schools. Cut it down to two. One between KM and Lawndale. Then combine Crest and Shelby. Far fetched really and trust me. You don’t want that.
What’d be worse would be to go all Richmond County like and build one big one in the Center somewhere. Cleveland County High School would mean DOOM for anyone that had to step to it.

Wouldn’t even be fair. You would have D1 players transferring out to find playing time.
