Does anyone know where I can find a list of bands who've played on campus over the years?

I moved into a new apartment and I don't have any artwork, so my graphic artist cousin is going to make me a bunch of fake vintage concert posters to frame and hang up, like for example "Bruce Springsteen, Live at Humphrey Coliseum, October 15th, 1988, doors open at 8pm" or whatever or whenever.

I'm wondering if I can find specifics. I'd love to have an Allman Brothers one from the amphitheater. Maybe I should just make some up? "The Traveling Wilburys, Live at The Hump"

Talk to Music Makers. I worked for CAB for a bit and they had a bunch of the old posters hanging in their office in the third floor of the Union

You can use the digital Reveille via the Library and do a text search for Music Makers. might be a bit tedious but most of the big shows are probably in there.

There is a display in the concourse of The Hump…30 year anniversary or something. I noticed the Bon Jovi concert poster from 1987. There may be others.

^^^^^ Thanks D@A. I'll log onto the library's website tomorrow.

I'm thinking The Boss and Allman Brothers are the two I'll try to dig up info on (I have no shame calling Bulldog Deli* and asking them to look at the posters).

I still might just make up some concerts. I'll keep yall updated in case anyone wants a copy.

Some great concerts at the Animal Husbandry building in the early to mid 1970's: Black Oak Arkansas; ZZ Top; Todd Rundgren; Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Linda Ronstadt at McCarthy in 75; Billy Joel in 76; Smithereens in the early 80's. Can't remember when Springsteen played the Hump. Was a fool for missing that one.

Blood, Sweat and Tears in early 70's. Not sure which venue. Buddy Miles ended his AH building show with a 30 minute drum solo. It was cool at the time. Jerry Jeff Walker couldn't finish his show at AH building. Too drunk to make any sense. Drunkernhell, if I had to characterize it. Jimmy Buffet at McCarthy. Not sure where else.

Yeah, that was the night. Love me some JR Cash, but he certainly had his demons.

It was before my time, but I read where there was so much demand that show was at the Animal Husbandry building because it was only venue that could handle that large a crowd. Also said he played a party at the Pike house then went to another party before being reported for crawling down Hwy 82.

That Buddy Miles concert was the only one I`ve ever been to where you could get a buzz from passive smoke in a building that size.

Saw Ferrante & Teicher sometime in the 65-70 timeframe in Lee Hall. Also saw the Lettermen. Can't remember any more, but saw the Association at the W during that time period.

If you have time try this page

http://library.msstate.edu/reveille

Each Reveille has a page summarizing that years concerts. I had forgotten about Ray Charles, Arlo Guthrie and many others while I was there. You`ll be shocked at some of the people who performed there in the 70`s.

You sure about the Stats? Remember the concert, the Carters and

With the Carter Family, Carl Perkins and the Statler Brothers

The arrest but don't remember ever seeing the Statler Brothers. I'd hate to know I saw them and didn't know who they were at the time.
