This is not a post to complain about he needs more playing time. However I think he needs to be more aggressive about taking any open shots he gets. He reminds me of Darius Miller that was called "Disappearius Miller" because he wasn't offensive minded enough at times. I want to groan when Fox or Briscoe takes a 3 pointer instead of Willis, Mulder, or Monk. I want Fox and Briscoe to drive in to around 15 feet or less when they take a shot. I hope as the season progresses the team gets smarter in playing to their strengths and Willis turns it up a notch.

Willis won't shoot more unless plays are called for him. Right now it's "move the ball" and he moves it like it's a hot potato.
I'm fine with Fox or Briscoe taking one early in the game or when we're up by 10 or more. Otherwise, hell no. Willis should shoot every time he has an openish look.
talking about Willis, he has frustrated me in the Kansas game when he was under the hoop and let the guy go right around him and grab a critical rebound. Then in the Florida game I saw him box out then didn't even jump for the rebound which seemed strange in that he did the hard work then just stood there. He may not have gotten it but if he jumps he at least slows down the Florida rebounder. Its small things that make a difference in championships.
Every rebound is critical. Every defensive possession is critical. Truth is there have been many mistakes by several players through out the season. Willis is just focused on more because it's his low key demeanor. He seems to play at the same speed in every possession. It's strange to watch him play. No matter if he's hot or sucking, same way. But in no way should he always be the player that gets blamed all the time.

Willis is a situational player. Half of the time, he is asleep on defense and the boards. He has shown flashes of brilliance this season, but hasn't been consistent in any phase of the game. You still want him taking a 3 over any other player on the roster, except Monk, if he is open in the corner or the elbow.
I think some of the issue is that he looked much better with Ulis at the helm last season. Ulis was incredible at setting up his shooters and making everyone around him better.

Such a refreshing new topic. I learned so much about Willis today.....so many things that have never been discussed here except about about a million times.
I think the problem is more him passing up on too many shots that he should take, but it could be partly the team not getting him the ball enough.
Outside of a fast break opportunity I'd have Willis parked out at the 3 point line. If he goes inside that line for any purpose other than to get a rebound I'd put him back on the bench. His man has to stay out there on him which should help Fox and Briscoe attack the rim. I get aggravated with Willis but the kid can flat out shoot the ball.

Willis played well in the Alabama and UT games,he needs to back that up with a good game at UGA,he has been a good role player at times but you never know what you will get from him in any given game.If we got the UT game Willis for the rest of the season everyone in the NCAAT would be sweating bullets afraid they were going to face UK.

The player that you were talking about in the Kansas game was Josh Jackson, he might be the #1 overall pick in the draft this year. Btw, Willis had 18 against and Josh Jackson had 20.
