Compromise

Bear with me, not the best on the computer. I would be interested in seeing how the people on here think or see themselves when it comes to compromising. I am taking whether it be marriage, job, purchasing things, and of course politics.
I like it. I am just figuring out how to operate this. Have to admit that was quick!
In marriage, i have learned that it is best to compromise as much as possible, so when you want a certain thing or outcome, you usually get your way....(pick your battles)
Politics...I generally am left on social issues, but would probably right on economics of most elected republicans ( i think rank an file republicans are probably with me, as elected republicans are as reckless as democrats). I would be willing to compromise and love to discuss the issues with people especially when you can actually get down to the issues and not the talking points. I am willing to compromise with people on political issues if they actually talk about the issues and not the rhetoric.
Job...always willing to compromise, but will definitely make sure my opinion is heard...I would not do well as a yes man, but Once the boss makes the decision, I do my best to carry it out.
Purchasing things...depends on what it is...if it is important to me, I am more likely to purchase what I want regardless of price...but if it's Ketchup, I'm buying the store brand, because the extra 75 cents to pay for Heinz, isn't worth it to me (even if it is better, which is debatable anyway).

Yeah, I hear ya. When it comes to the team of fans that believes “better recruiting = more wins” vs the team of fans that believes “better development” = more wins, I think the two sides need to COMPROMISE. Development and recruiting are both the way to success.
that’s what you were getting at right? Cause if your talking politics, I think you meant to log in to your Reddit account. I learned the hard way with a week ban. The minute Kaz banned me I had an email ready to send to him with me huffing and puffing on how much BS I thought it was. Took a step back and said, wait a minute “I’m the *******, not Kaz”.

As long as I don’t have to do anything differently or change the way I think, compromise is cool.
Back in the day I was about a 6. As far as what I’d bring home, that meant I would go as low as a 3 or 4, but could sometimes use my guile(read keen awareness of others’ lack of self-esteem and/or daddy issues) and my long-game drinking ability to bring home an 8.
In general, I think compromise is a good thing. We all should have some core beliefs and values that we would not compromise on, but if that list is too long then you are going to be difficult to work with.
My default with my marriage or work is to go along with something if it isn't that big of a deal to me. Don't sweat the small stuff. On other occasions though, compromise is quite helpful.
In politics, compromise is a necessity. Compromise is a sign of working together. Have there been bad compromises? Sure. But overall, it's served our nation quite well. Without it, little gets accomplished. The vocal extremists don't like it, but then those people deep down do not like democracy anyway. They secretly prefer socialism & an oligarchy or dictatorship (pretending to be mixed capitalism & democracy) that would cater to all of their beliefs and serve their personal interests.
To be honest, 'compromising' is used by people to get you to give things. In modern interpretations, both political and otherwise, it has become the norm to ask for way more than you really want or need and demand compromise. Then demonize the other side when they won't do it.
So to me it has become the equivalent of a 4 letter word... because too many life situations become destructive when compromise is used as a method and that's not even pointing out that it's used as a hammer.
That doesn't mean it's inherently a bad thing. It just means that I tend to think more in terms of making a situation work than in terms of compromise. It becomes less about what each side is getting (and the ego trips involved) and more about... making **** work.

We’ve done too much compromising on the whole “democracy” thing. We aren't one and were never intended to be. Words mean things.
You know which countries don't compromise, communists. China has real concentration camps where people who don't compromise get rounded up and put in concentration camps. Once there their hair is shaved and sold to countries for extentions. They also will harvest your organs to sell and force sterilize you. We don't know how good we have it in the USA
