It seems like the networks are intent on squeezing in more commercials during breaks. Time out breaks are longer, right?

I can appreciate the need to maximize profits but you can almost sense the network execs smiling every time a player is injured.

It isn’t conference specific. The Utah vs. Florida game on ESPN was just as bad. SEC and Big12 broadcasts are no better. It’s a network profits arms race.

Glad they have a running clock now so they could jam more media timeouts into the game. It was ridiculous. Game was still 3 1/2 hours.

Exactly. I could be over-reacting but it’s my impression that the refs are way too quick on the commercial injury TO as well.

Some of the injuries are minor and just need a 30-60 second trainer intervention or assistance to get off the field. Next thing you know, you’re off to a 4 minute commercial break. If you attend games, you witness this first hand.

I’ll get off the soapbox now.

It’s all about eyeballs now to FOX and ESPN.

3.7+ million people watched the game last night. I’ll keep watching, and stick with UNL in all kinds of weather, but it was almost unwatchable live time in the 1st Half last night.
