Dude, seriously? Just yesterday I setup a website for a Church Plant we are doing. Built the website with integrated video, blog and eCommerce to allow for donations. Took me about 2 hours with zero programming and cost less than $200 with Vimeo video hosting and the whole 9 yards. For a simple blog you could do this through SquareSpace (http://www.squarespace.com) or tons of other sites quick and easy and you can get a free domain name (FYI, thedrillfield.com is available) in the process. If you want to be taken seriously at all you gotta get rid of that wix.com crap.

Pro tip, if you are going to use a place like SquareSpace look for podcast promotions through Google. They almost all advertise through podcasts and have decent deals.

The photo for General MSU Buffoonery is a BW photo of bully getting 'arrested' by two members of the campus police back when they were still called security. I'm thinking that photo is circa 1981? Used to see the white cop around campus all the time. He kinda stood out with his really gung ho attitude, and very confrontational style. We used to call him super cop. I'm sure there were nicknames others coined. Never had a run in with him personally but never thought I'd see his mug again.

this! The domain name reservation should be the 2nd thing done after you decide on what to name the site and it’s content. Cmon man.

and I’m going to give a away a Golden website idea I have but couldn’t keep current as it should be as I do not live close enough.

a website directed to MSU fans who can’t make it to campus that often and are out of the loop, opposing fans, and general visitors to Starkville. A site that lists, in detail:

1) restaurants with menus, information, location, and the “must haves” at each place. Seems there may be some room for some advertising revenue as well as pay for content and placement.

2) lodging. Everything from hotel Chester to the new spots on north 12. Again. Ads and placement.

3)events. Bulldog bash, cotton district arts, super bulldog weekend, concerts, atheletic events. I don’t know if stubhub , ticket city, etc has an affiliate program.. but this would be the place for that. Oh yea. Content, placement, n ****. You think opposing fans would like to know where to park?

4) general info about MSU. You see how folks flock to picture threads of the University around here? How many people know we have a moon sycamore on campus?

The site would have to be done right. No wix or the like. Get adobe dreamweaver and get acquainted with it.
