Columbus Food Recommendations

Got to take my son to Columbus this weekend. Any recommendations on food? I'm really looking for something casual & relatively quick.

Hucks Place would be my pick for a sit down meal but it's not very casual or quick. You have Harvey's , The Grill, or any number of chain restaurants. For quick and casual I would go with Proffitts Porch out near the waterway, the seafood sandwich if great. The gumbo is good too.

We ate once at a place that was out on a lake/pond kind of East of Columbus probably 3 or 4 miles. Hang a Left on that main drag, and it winds back in there to it. Maybe someone else can give you the name of it.

Yeah, that's it. Po Boys and such? It was pretty good. Probably not life changing, but it beats a Subway or Mexican place.

It's good. Just be sure you get good directions though. Hucks is outstanding for either a casual burger or fine dining. Zachary's is also good for burgers and wraps (these aren't your low-cal wraps). For a town it's size, Columbus has some very good dining options.

Old hickory isn't the same as it used to be. Huck's is by far the best restaurant in Columbus. I have been there several times, and the food is always great. We go to Proffit's often also, but you can get a sandwich anytime.

Proffit's is great and United Deli is a hidden gem. Amazing sandwiches and super nice Middle Eastern family that runs it. Tons of food for little $$$.

New place downtown is Old 82. Good Poboys and shrimp tacos.

Take your son to Huck's or Proffitt's Porch

If you go to Huck's make sure you order their cheese sticks. I highly recommend Proffitt's if the weather is nice so you can sit on the porch, definitely do not go there to sit inside.

Zachary's and La Fiesta are both great too, probably the best weekday lunch spots. If you were staying in town for a few days, those two options would make for a good affordable meal.
