I agree! He is so much better than Rex, it's like a breath of fresh air. Rex was knowledgeable, but he grated my nerves to listen to him. Goose on the otherhand is so smooth and knows just as much or more and is a pleasure to listen to. Finally, Goose is a true Kentucky fan, which I never got from Rex.

After Rex’s latest stuff, I don’t think he will be around the program in an official capacity for awhile.

Give us The Goose.

I doubt they’ll announce it anytime soon. They’ll let some time pass.

Goose should be the man!! Time to show Chapman the door completely!!
Ive seen some of Chapmans actions but can someone post his latest garbage, i must have missed it. Sad, dude was a freaking stud and loved his game but went way way left.

I think Goose Givens would be a great choice. He has done a great job on the pregame shows!
The Goose would be a popular choice if he wants it, and I imagine he is high on their list because of his qualifications. Cam Mills might be another good choice. I wonder if Jeff Sheppard or Derek Anderson would be interested.

There were a couple threads about it yesterday, but both got deleted because of political content.

The gist of it is it Rex had another one of his batshit crazy twitter attacks where he mocked conservatives being in interracial marriages and suggested that Clarence Thomas was a black white supremacist because he’s in a graduation video with only white kids and he never attends NBA games (I guess Rex believes one can’t really be black if they don’t like the NBA).

The problem is people can’t separate sports from politics. He would do fine with Leach. His Twitter posts has nothing to do with UK basketball.

The problem is Rex lives off attention. Two of the easiest way to get attention is 1) political hot takes on social media, and 2) ticking off BBN. Rex, while an idiot, isn't stupid. His ego would probably rank up there with Cal's. He knows how to scratch his itch.

At what, 61-62 might not be something JG wants to get into. Other than that, the job should be his. Think he would be great.

Jack Givens will be 66 in just a few weeks. He is my top choice to take over for Mike Pratt but I think Rex would be okay as well.

True, I was guessing a couple days before the trip. I think that’s about right, month and a half of mourning Pratt. I just couldn’t see them making a jolly old announcement about the new color guy just two weeks after he passed.

There is some truth to this, but those who can’t separate the two are the ones to generally ignore as the most ignorant about both. And Chapman probably could do fine. Nevertheless, I just feel like right now Givens is more involved and in tune with the program, and he’ll focus on the stuff we as fans want to know. Could be wrong, but that’s my perception.

Zero chance even Leach would allow Baldy-Gap-toof-RIP Pete Gillen-Goofy *** Chapman to sit alongside him.

Listen I agree. Jack should be choice number 1. Make him say no.

Kevin Grevey would be fantastic but I seriously doubt he would be interested. Givens would be my next choice.

There’s a point though. Does the university want Chapman’s views distracting from UK basketball?

So while in a perfect world, politics would never influence hiring decisions, if you’re spouting loud stupid stuff, don’t exp3ct a lot of callbacks.

Goose replacing Rex on the pregame was a breath of fresh air honestly. The singing drove me nuts.

Hate that this thread had to be made. I LOVED Pratt, him and Leach were absolutely perfect together. Regardless of who it is, it’s gonna take me a long time to get used to.
