Go to KSR they have an article on Collins in an all star game. There is a tape of him playing he looks like he has a decent 3 point shot and better handles than I thought. Could see him being a stretch 4 with Oscar being on the block.

I think excelling in the stretch 4 role as a freshman might be a reach for Collins, but I do look forward to seeing what he can bring to the table. He seems to have that extra bit of bounce that separates him from normal college basketball players.

A few here and there.

Sarr should have been shooting at least 5 threes per 40 minutes, much like the rate Willis shot.
Early in the year Call had Sarr on the block. Think as the year went along Cal saw him as more of a stretch player. With Oscar on block think Collins will have a little rope to play out on floor.

The center should average 5 threes? I’m not sure some of our guards average 5 threes

Does it look like to you that the competition is little below the normal? Not that he can’t improve just looks like he is playing in another league.
Yeah for sure. Seems like he has good instincts though and you can’t really teach that.

My names Sean too.

I remember during the preseason how the team and "experts" said teams were not going to be scoring layups on us. That sure proved true, LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well if IJ could have stayed out of foul trouble it would have been completely different I reckon.

edit: Does anybody know why it won’t let me post sometimes? I assume cause this is a new username? @jedwar

edit 2: @kyjeff1 i still can’t post. It’s been hours. I can only “like” and edit. No clue.

OT needs to play the 4 and we need to pray for Jackson to return. OT is like 6’8”. 6’8” center isn’t what cal excels at.

Lets not forget Skal and KAT who were much better shooters never even shot one.

Square Pegs...Round holes and all
KAT did not come to UK as a three point shooter. He didnt come here as the top recruit either. Cal allowed him to take 3 point shots although very few. He shot 25% from 3 at UK. So you may want to check stats before giving them as truth. You know, Square pegs and Round holes.

Bam seemed to do good under Cal at about 6-8 6-9 range. If O can perform at his level I will take it.

If you aren't paying for a subscription to this site, one of the setbacks is, you have to wait a certain amount of time after you post, before you can post again. It’s usually a couple of minutes.
You also can't private message another person.

sure he was good but that team needed a nick richards or wcs type length. Bam wasn’t a center and we went home elite eight. If OT is our center we will be a player short

I didn’t know anyone was forcing you to read anything. They should have told you when you signed up, or, really, it's just common sense, but you really don't HAVE to read my posts, it's not a requirement.
Also, nobody said you had to agree with my opinions either.
Seems like your comment us a little uncalled for, dont you think?
Lastly. 9-16. 10 million dollars a year. He deserges whatever critisism he gets.
Convenient how you left out the 1 championship and 4 final fours along with the greatest stretch in program history.

Wth are you talking about? What does that have to do with anything in this thread?

I haven't even talked about Calipari today. Why do I have to explain this **** to every new guy that has a hard on for Cal? If you hate what I have said, then that means you have already read my comments, so you know what I'm going to say, so do me a favor and just slap yourself in the face with my nuts and save me the waste of energy.

If you want to pretend like 2009-2015 Cal is coming back, go ahead, have fun.

Me and Cal will be talking about final fours and how the HOF is, you and Rick will be too busy undressing each other.
We will talk about the greatest team ever assembled in 1996 and the most exciting basketball we ever witnessed as UK fans . While you're at it ask him how it was to have missed the tournament twice now in his 12 years and to have the worse season at UK in over 100 years!

I know it's like everyday there is like 10 new usernames from the same "I love Calipari " "Calipari does no wrong camp" or like you just said "Ellen or the family has a new account". They have either came back from vacation or Calipari is finally done giving advice to all these other coaches on how they should go about playing in the NCAA tournament since he didn't know how to get there this year! Over a million bucks per win that's the gig I want!
They simply can't handle the truth. I feel sorry for them.

KAT definitely had more wing skills in high school than he did post skills. KAT accredits Cal and Payne for developing his post game that didn’t really exist before coming to Kentucky.

His 25% was on an 8 shot sample size and he is now probably the most efficient shooting big man of all time when you factor in efficiency and volume of his three point attempts.

With KAT or Cousins vs Skal or Sarr at Kentucky, it wasn’t as important for them to be shooting threes because they could dominate the paint. Skal and Sarr could not

True. He is shooting right at 40% for his NBA career. Sarr is the only UK player this year to shoot a better percentage. KAT is shooting well over 50% for all shots in his career.

I've got no problem with any player at any position shooting whatever shot makes for a good percentage play. This year for Sarr, the good percentage play was often a 3 (partly because he was a good shooter from there, and partly because he was surprisingly less effective in the paint). But to me, Skal and KAT are different situations, and basically shot very nearly exactly the number of 3 pt. shots they should have taken at UK.

Skal had a decent 15', but I don't think he has ever (college or pros) shown any reason why he should be taking 3s. Probably half-a-dozen players on every team he's played on would have been better options. That's why he averaged about 0.5 3s per game in 6 seasons in the NBA.

As for KAT, his problem coming in to UK was an inability (or unwillingness) to play in the post. What Calipari did with the development of KAT and forcing him to toughen up and learn physical post play is as good a development job as I've seen in one year. Plus, UK already had better guys to shoot 3s
